thought bulldogs rarely bay at pig, but rather grab a hold.. lack of heart ?

You take a well bred bulldog puppy and all he ever saw or been around was baydogs..Well he still a bulldog but what happens when he looses temper and all he ever fights is baydogs.Well he starts to fight and act like a baydog cur snappin and shit. But deep down he may be a bulldog.I saw a goat one time that was raised around dogs he never saw another goat. This goat thought he was a dog and he would try and bark and growl like a dog.He would even chase cars like a dog and try to bite the tires..What i am saying is some people can fuck up anything.

I wouldn't call a dog a bulldog unless it's wanting to get in there and mix it up.

Those two look like friends to me. Pig looks so neat and tidy and the dog acts like it's part of the family. Just having fun.

ok Danny ..it looks to be a APBT just dancing around and playing with a hog instead of catching him.

Ah. I can't see it but I would say sometimes the dog might just need to be pointed in the right direction and shown what to do.

or a first incounter possibly? Maybe the dog was trained to bay from a pup. Hard to say unless you are the one who raised the dog i guess.

The dog looks like it's unsure of what to do as well as unsure of itself. Is this a young dog?
The video reminded me of when a youngin of mine came across a baby robin that had fell from it's nest into his chain spot. The dog was very interested in the bird but wouldn't advance on it and when the bird stood up and would bluff and make noise, the dog would back up and bark as if he was unsure what it was, if he should play with it, or just kill it.

That hog is a pet used to train pups. It has a ring in its nose to prevent rooting. Some pits will not catch straight out and tend to bay at first. Put them in with a rough pig that will knock them around and everything changes. For a catch dog u don't want them to just catch blindly but instead to only catch the pig. I have seen lots of bulldogs that would bark the first time they saw or were put in with a pig. Bump them a time or 2 and u will hear the pig squeal.

good post above...the best ones i have seen and like are the ones that will catch the first they ever saw.

Yea first time most will wana chase around till they figure it out and sometime u have to catch it an get it to squeal but if they dnt catch then it ain't lookin good. I usually start one on a coon first if I can they learn real quick to hit when they get to it an then move them up to a pig. Dnt really want to put one on a hog that will burn em rt off tho have to build his confidence up and if it catches good on one for a bit the step it up to a rougher hog. JMO

I so wish we had hogs here. I know they're concidered destructive pests but being a hunter, that would be something I'd really like to get into.

To be honest as a hunter u don't want them. Hook up with folks from other areas to get ur fix of hog hunting. While I will admitt it is a lot of fun if u enjoy other forms of hunting a hog will put a damper on any of them if moved into ur area. I have seen places with top notch deer get to a point of hardly any decent bucks in short order du to hogs.

Guess i didnt realize they would destoy the deer population. Definitly dont want that. We have some excellent white tail deer hunting and turkey here in Pa.
