So these past couples of days people have been telling me that my dog blucifer, a 19 month old pitbull terrier, is too skinny because they can see his ribs. I sometimes agree but I dont want to fatten him up. I tried to gat him to gain to pound but it doesnt work, he doesnt get fat. And that is good because I dont want him to. I would how ever like to put on more muscle on top of his ribs like these other dogs ive seen. What are some good and effective exercise for this particular part of his body. Here are some pic of where he is now. IMAG0099.jpg IMAG0099.jpg Image 2013-07-25 4.jpeg IMAG0105.jpg

Thanks, I guess these people dont know anything about the breed lol. What is the best conditioning method to get muscles on his rib cage area. He uses the springpole everyday but not so intense. He gets a lot of walks lol, I take him everywhere. He is terrified of the treadmill

your dog looks just fine as he is ....i have always handwalked mine , up hills and down dales lol. i found a good way of conditioning was to stand at the top of a railway embankment with a field below, a handfull of sticks to throw and a bowl of water (if it is warm) the banks i used were at least 60ft and i would launch a stickinto the field, when he returned with stick iwould launch another as soon as he dropped the first and so on, until i felt that he had had enough, hence the water. nice dog you have reguardless though ;-)

Your dog is far from being "too skinny". Get used to people saying this though. If you keep a healthy fit APBT it will probably happen a lot.

Yea man, most ppl think obese is the norm... If I called that dog anything if say a little too heavy for my taste he could stand to loose a few pounds... Most pricks that say shit like think that an APBT should look like those POS Gotti/RE/ Dax them type dogs.... There just dumb... Forgive them lord they knw not what they say

Good looking dog. Fat dogs (and their owners) piss me off. It's like a fat child. How can a dog (or child) get fat? What does it do all day? I always thought kids and dogs liked to play, but there are a lot of fat ones these days. :-P

I wonder if sight hound owners have to deal with that "skinny dog" shit

I bet it was a fat person who made the "skinny" remark who's dog resembles them.. working dogs should have the body of a athlete defined and hard..
