Limey let me break it down and explain what ENDURANCE is.

Endurance (also related to sufferance and resilience) is the ability of an organism to exert itself and remain active for a long period of time, as well as its ability to resist, withstand, recover from, and have immunity to trauma, wounds, or fatigue.

In Simple words, if a Fat Over Weight person's goal was to run 10k race, he would train for it, in the beginning he won't be able to run 10k , so each day he goes out and runs half a K, next week he runs 1K, then the other week he runs 2k so on and so forth, so you see he built his ENDURANCE up each time he went out and ran, so sooner or later he will be able to run 10k with no problem, with the right training, food , rest , anyone who had the will can reach the same goal, that's what ENDURANCE is!

Let's say he was running, and you hit his knees with a baseball bat, he might Quit the race or Crawl to the finish line, all the training can not prepare him to deal with the Pain, it's up to his Heart to reach the finish line and if he does, maybe then we can call it Human Gameness??

Sea serpend . Im FULLY aware wat Endurance is. and i know you copied the first two lines from Wikipedia!!..
your view on the matter is compleatly wrong. As you pretend she wassend hurt!! and needed to be hit bij a base ball bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. to show gamenes....>???.

Many many a dog hase died from being completely drained and exausted and BURNED up. Not a mark on there skin they coulden iven break the skin whent for hours ,yet showed Deep / Dead gameness...Are you telling me your in a belive that a dog ore a person needs to be fisical hurt and cut up to show gamennes!????.

Do you realy know what the NR1 killer in the historicel fighting APBT is???.....ITS NOT the damage, as they can mostly COPE with that. natural man made selection over the cours of hunders of years have made the body of the APBT withstand more pain due to MASSIF realase and production of endorfines......in other words they do NOT FEEL PAIN as we do. wich makes it for lots of people unbeliveble and be in shock and awe wat they seen. compearing to there own mutch lesser resiliends of pain due to a much lower endorfine production . because we have not been bred for that perpose...
90% of the dogs that do die, die because of there CORE temparature rises above 109.4/111.2 . thats wat kills them NOT the outside damage.... sure its a drain of there recuvery system .
But Heat is the nr1 that makes a dog QUIT. Heat is also the nr one for dehydration . Heat and dehydration means DEATH . Death due to blood los in the historicel APBT was MINIMAL..... In the past when a dog urinated afther a show 99% of the people thought they pissed blood. RED FLAG . As its actual lactic acid and waist from the dogs body that hase been burned to pieces due to the core heat.. colected bij the Kidneys who at that stage have a massif overload ofToxic body brake douwn waist.. same when they shit that dark black matter that came out of them.
thats burned out gut and intestense tisiue.... It is very rare that a dog in the past died from collateral outside damage.. unless he faced a hard mouth!! . and bij the way a wel condition dog thussend bleed eather, as his blood is thicker!!...
Now if we go back to Gabriele Andersen again. wat do we see not a mark on her skin. We do see MASSIF overheating massif Dihydration, and Massif loss of body funktion. wich in dogs terms is refeard to as SHOCK. A deepgame dog scratches in Shock, but also quits in shock. We seen them stumble we seen them losing al motoric skills and imposible to go in a straight line. Do we see this 37 year old Lady quit in deep schok, Do we see her scrach straight at that line!!....... can belive that there are still people in this day and age who are that ignorend in beliving that gameness is related only to fisical trauma . and people think im a relic.. Damm.

Why don't we all get butt naked and sit in a Hot SAUNA room, last person to leave the SAUNA room is GAME??
The only sport I know where you can truly test a human's Gameness is either boxing or MMA.

I have a dog I over worked last year and he heat stroked after he finished getting back home. Does that make him game?

Just great, now everyone is going to say they got a gamedog because their dog jogged until it collapsed... lmao:vovvetliten::rofl:

  8. LOL that's the first sensible thing youve said in this thread

  9. this ain't"game" olympic or just down the street. it's just a foot race & she was as close to promised tomorrow as one could get. for convo purpose only. there's no outs & there one bad move away from not getting a ride home. half the time there one good move from not getting a ride home. it's not even comparable the two.

First off gamness in humans is just the willingness to compete. The gamness of a combatant dog or human is a diff thing. While I commend her on a gutsy effort her only opponent was herself. So if she exhibited the standard gameness Then as some said already A dog could be considered game by dying on a treadmill. If a dog dies in a weight pull is it deadgame? If i hang a spring pole to high and my dog takes a hard fall and after he stumbles to his feet hes right back on it is he worth a bet?

  12. Sea Serpent

Hahahaha only if he gets up off his feet in 100 degrees Phoenix weather, bet the house on it, he's game LOL.

no running your DOG on a mill isnt testing gameness.....lol... i mean if your dogs comes close to dying on a mill your a POS... however dogs are a lot tougher than humans...... were pussys when it comes to the animal kingdom lol, .... what are the the very things that make a dog quit? ........fatigue, pain, oncomming shock, blindness, not physically capable of scratching...... by the video, it looks like this woman expereinced all that.... now she came in dead last... but was still determined to finish..... her fatigue was crystal clear, her body appeared to be giving out on her, she coudnt even run straight wich leads me to believe her vision wasnt in such good condition either, dont even wanna talk about the pain she was probably in...........she faced all this..... thats gameness!

So, its game for a human to do it but not a dog?

Lmao thats what we've all been saying. Lol yous have just way too many definitions of GAME.
Combat determines gameness, the rest is just determination and drive........

If a weight pull dog was nearing death while pulling his load due to heat and exhaustion and continued to pull until it collapes then by your very definition of the word, it would be a game dog for continuing. Its not, maybe in your eyes but not mine. Ive only heard the word ever used in combat sports. And once in horse racing but i didnt feel it was used in the same sense as it is used with the dogs. There are many definitions of that one word which is probally why many have a different view. Just like prospect..... If that woman is game to you and Limey in the same sense the word is used in bulldogs then you have to also belive gameness can be shown in other events other than fighting which would mean, every breed of dog has the possibility of being a gamedog..... I dont know of any....

That woman had incredible amounts of heart, but gameness is the desire to actually FIGHT when you're as tired as she was, not just to keep going. The pain, dehydration, shock, etc., all add up to test that desire, but it's a desire not just to keep going, but to stop the other guy that equates to gameness. I heard Rocky Marciano talking about one of his fights while he was watching the footage of it, and at one point he said, "See that punch? Right there's where he broke my jaw. That's when I knew I had to knock this guy out." That comes close for a human...

    Maybe...YMMV.

  19. HUH? That's exactly what the thread is doing. This is a dog forum. Limey posting this stupid shit about a human calling it a tribute tto gamess is doing exactly that. Comparing dogs to humans.

  20. Torresbeag

    Torresbeag Big Dog

Did Rocky have to knock him out, because he knew himself he wasn't game...and wasn't going to take much more punishment on his jaw?? (not judging him at all) i don't know i wasn't there.....but you could argue both sides of the debate if you wanted a pissing contest....

Re Gabby Anderson, i'm sure that if she had decided to take up boxing or MMA and applied herself with the same determination, focus and will to win, we would be definitely classing her as game...she pushed herself to the limits to get the job done....that's game......she wasn't getting hit but she was being severely punished and tested....

My own definition of game would be a will/focus to win against all odds, taking yourself to the limits of your bodies endurance to achieve it....

In dogs, lots of guys can look at there dogs for a couple of minutes and see they have the necessary ability to be worth a gamble. If are breeding there lines for a long time, they can predict the traits of the dogs the have by the attitude and demeanor of there dogs, they see the focus in their eyes, and know they will give there all if conditioned correctly.

No condition or overmatching and you will stop them all......

Battle of Marathon, Which is remembered most? the battle of the run afterwards

It's a good topic, but a little demeaning to gameness and spirit of our dogs to be bringing to down to gameness on threadmill and in a sauna....

    Your gamedogs deserve better......

State your views and don't be a smartass....
