Just wondering what all bloodlines are being used for catchdogs. Lines that aren't dog crazy but got the game to tie into hog.

jmo i think all bloodlines from APBT produce good catch dogs..If you r lookin for good catch dogs that arent crazy the simple answer is you need to find a breeder that is breeding this type.

i don't know honestly, that's treading a fine line. There are some good sized APBT's out there that I'm sure would catch but no one breeds for cold dogs,so finding one that's not going to hit the other dogs might take some effort to find.

I think a BIG mayday,,redboy or alligator dog would do the job by himself I don't think he'll work well with others but you might get lucky if you raised one to hunt with 2 other dogs.Maybe a big ruff AM-STAFF or amstaff cross.I would go with an american bulldog.

I kno it's a fine line to find one that will do it but they r out there. I'm just lookin for folks experience with different blood. Dnt care for a big dog they take up too much room on the rack! Americans tend to turn loose too often but there again there are some good ones. I kno there gona b hot dogs in all lines but some lines on average will produce dogs that ain't too hot for a dog ain't huge an will hit a hog no matter what size it is. I'm not lookin to buy I'm just wondering what lines have been used with regular success catching. I'm not talkin bout having one that hunts although quite a few will but just a good solid catchdog. One you dnt have to worry bout w other dogs or people but one that will catch solid an you dnt have to worry bout when u go in to grab the hog.

if raised with the pack he should be fine cur breeds tend to know not to challenge a bulldog so if there the only bulldog in the pack the other dogs will stay out his way and give him space. you keep em leashed until the hog is bayed up anyway then you turn em loose once the hog is caught you leash em again they dont trail with the hounds.
