Gameness would be 20 for me for is that not wat we want all of them to be! finish would be 5 how bad could a deep gamedog be that has finish too? and if we were given an extra 5 points it would go to mouth jmo!

Some of these traits are a lot more important than others imo. Its not fun having a dog working on a down hog with a leg hold for 20 mins. I refuse to breed or show a dog that will not finish. Im willing to bet on a dog with high finish, high ability, above average gameness and a decent mouth.

 

Well I guess I will throw my 2 cents in I don't care about what order these traits fall in the most important thing to me is a dog who can get the job done however the chips fall as long as they fall in my favor these traits are things any good game dog should possess and I am not looking for any specific order. I am looking at the bigger picture the dog proves itself and that's what makes these dogs unique when the going get's tough and the odd's are heavily stacked against them they come out on top or will scratch till their last breath.Give me a good deep game dog that I can be proud of that's all anyone can really ask for.

 

Of course every one here wants a game dog but I didnt grow up participating in sports where everybody from first to last place got a trophy and was called a winner. The point of the sport is to win. I think its cruel to show up with just a deep or dead game dog. If your hound dosent posses other attributes to help it win then dont take it out of the yard. If some brings a well rounded dog with half the gamness of your deep game dog then you will be picking up or burring your dog that night. Jmo

 

Hmm that's funny cause I am sure I wrote these traits are things any good game dog should possess. So you failed to read my post as it was written. I never said only bring a deep game dog what I said is I want a dog who can get the job done. I am not in the business of nit picking which traits are more important than the other as I think they all play a part in the make up of a good game dog ... I stated let the chips fall where they will the order in which they fall is of no importance to me as long as I am bringing a good game dog who can do what it's supposed to do.

 

I think a intelligent dog with extreme mouth, deep gameness and finish will give anything he runs into a great deal of nightmares. Might even be listed as unbeatable lol. If managed properly... "my opinion".

 

If i was reffering to you i would have quoted your post. I made a general statement to everyone who felt that having just an extremely game dog will get them a win.
