Barkers!

ok before i get smart ass answers im aware ALL dogs bark............

but.............

....is it just me or does anyone have them dogs that you dont ever hear a peep out of??

im wondering if quiet/crazy loud barker is a genetic trait or just an individual personality and IF it is genetic....what line seems to predominately throw this quiet trait...

like i got a male thats 3 times renegade and he quiet as shit, my buddys runnin heavy renegade dogs and they dont ever bark either.....maybe just coincidence...

like i said i aint chasin non barkin dogs or anything like that, but it was just one of them random ass thoughts that i started to dwell on...lets hear your opinions, maybe this thread wont be an epic failure like my last few...lol

 

Heavy fucking Red Boy dogs, from my expierence. My studs mother was a barker and have another heavy Cotti hound who won't shut the fuck up. Recently purchased a shock collar. MAGIC!!!

 

The majority of my dogs only bark when a possum or something is on the fence, and by the intensity I can usually tell if it's a human intruder that is about to get some teeth sunk in them=)
Most my APBT's only barked for something important. Other types of dogs I owned like my min pin bark for the hell of it at anything.
Never noticed any particular strain of APBT that barked more then the other, I have noticed that if you have mutiple dogs on chain and axle or kenneled that they have a tendency to bark more then usual, probably out of boredom.

 

I have a he redboy,bred dog thats supper quite on the chain. Only time you hear him is food time till his eyes are,on you.

I run redboy/ jocko dogs all of mine bark. I can't stand that screaming sound they make.when they get to loud I take my BB gun an fire off a shot at the fence and they run insidetheir dog houses.

 

Yup. Shock collar has worked for me in past.

 

Ive had rbj dogs, boyles dogs, eli dogs, jeep/rascal, jeep/rb dogs ect.. ect.. And from what ive seen is dogs from everyline will give you barkers...Got 2 females right now that are just plain funny, one barks all day everyday and the other barks only at night, all night long...But we live in the country and have alot of wild animals roaming through our land, so i account that to why the gyp i got barks all night long...If i lived in the city id have to go with a shock collar, but since were in the country i could give a damn if they bark all day and night....Best gyp i ever had was a mtn's mans gomer - big jake / mayday gyp and she never barked, EVER.....But she would never hesitate to be there when it counted!!!

 

I have a remote shock collar that is a beast, I always keep that around just in case lol

redboy, jeep, turtle buster dogs. i have a lil bitch thats 1/4 redboy 1/4 lonzo, 1/4 turtle buster, 1/4 jeep and this dog is constant, loud,sreamin, draggin it on barkin ass bitch but damn shes wired 220 so ill take the good with the bad lol.

 

living up to his name...must have been some sort of destiny shit, but Riot has barked maybe 5 times in 5 years.... in his sleep.
he does some wierd yodling scream if hes on his chain and theres a critter in the yard, otherwise, he IS Woody D's "Quiet Riot"

as for your question Laced....genetic? i have no fucking clue, but in my experience bored dogs starved for attention are ususally the barking fuckers

 

In my experience my mutt never barks in the house, but when I used to have a tie out and put her out, after 10-15 minutes that bitch would bark non stop at anything. Now that she is back in the house 24/7 she is back to quiet as a mouse. So I think it has to do more with state of mind/personality of idividual dogs than genetics.

after thinking about it a bit, i agree with ya. its just dogs, one might be an asshole and like to hear himself bark and the other doesnt care much for wasting its time yapping.

ive seen a couple different posts recently where someone commented that RedBoy dogs were barkers, and i have a close friend who has some very tightly bred Browns Syco stuff and them dogs dont make a peep unless theres a reason to. new dog on the yard, feeding time...typical shit...so i think that is horseshit as well. if RB dogs are genetically disposed to be barkers, it aint showing up in alot of em that ive owned/been around

cant speak for many of his dogs, but mine is smart as a whip, loves everybody, well behaved in the house, and hell on anything that gets in his way.

there was a male in his litter that looked promising but some idiots (IMO) got there hands on him, and a couple of the bitches from that litter have supposedly produced some good dogs, but that part is all hearsay. when i bought him i took a risk, well bred dogs owned by a fella some call a peddler, but i liked the breeding and i got lucky. he is worth every dime i spent...back when Kirk was charging 500 for pups off Zack.

 

My Saprky dog is gonna drive me crazy. I got an option of taking him to my shop. However that is a pain in the rear at 12am oe even 2am when decides to start barking for no reason. I tried everything he may want or need. Still barks... treats, bones, pigs ear....when he wants to bark the fucker just barks....and does so for hours on end.

Shock collar is my next option. Do they really work, I was afraid it just piss the dog off and he would thrash himself inside his kennel & continuing to bark.


Anyone have a barker this bad? I sold a redboy bitch that would not shut up.....the other red boy bitch I kept for a friend barked like a fool too. She lasted a week and was taken back. LOL Owners says she gotta go. To much racket. Sparky is great outside his barking. Get it stopped and he be a pleasure.

 

Never had a barker, thank god. My last female barked a little in her final months, but I think it was to compensate for her senses getting dull.

On a similar note, you guys ever heard your pits whine or whimper from pain? In 31 years of pit ownership, never heard a peep from any of mine. My neighbor got a "Pit Bull" (i.e; blue hippo) and that thing was whining like a mofo from having a chain link caught on it's toenail. I got a kick out of that.

 

as far as non barkers...I dunno. But I can tell you sixbits dogs dont shut the fuck up for fuckin nothin. Run chain, Bark,run chain, bark repete lmao

yeah im still in city limits so i got lucky with my renegade/nig dog.....but my shit bred house dog on the other hand WILL NOT STFU the whole time hes outside.......ill feed em, hes quiet for 3 mins then back at it, hes just a crybaby that wants attention......but he WANTS IT ALL!! if i show any of the other dogs attention in fron of him he goes APESHIT!
im hopin my pup turns out like my other male....if hes anything like his parents then i should be ok........
