Walk 1 at a time mike it takes longer yes but it gives u that one on one time with your bogs builds a stronger bond pluses if they get in to it with a stray then it's easy to brake it up & it won't look so bad in publics eye. Animal right ass kissers are a batch if they c u.

To be honest it's a bitch when you walk 2 dogs and another person's dog is walking loose while it doesn't even listen too it's owner.
In my country it's very simple, there's no more ban against pitbulls.
They noticed that 18 years of a ban and trying too kill as much pitbull looking dogs hasn't changed anything regarding the bite incidents, so this is the law now.
Any owner of a dog regarding it's breed wil get a warning or a fine (depending what happends) the second incident your dog wil be tested for agression if it doesn't clear the test bye bye doggie.

This is what i do if anybody's dog aproaches my dog while not listening too the owner.

First: I put both dogs short on the leash next to my knee's and tell them calm my dogs can't be around other dogs, that's why they are on the leash..
Second: I take my breackstick out of my pocket, most of the time any other dog owner doesn't know what it is, so they think it's something you can slap the dog with if it comes to close and 8 out 10 times they wil rush too put the dog on the leash.
Third: i stay calm and tell them any accident that is about to happend is there fault.
Fourth: If anything fails and the dog stil makes his aproach or attack, i wil hit that dog under the chin with my worker boots wich have a steel nose before my dog can do something, remember my legs are longer that the span my dogs have when i have them short on the leash next to my knee's, 99% of the dogs that get hit under the chin with my boots do not have the guts to come back.

and last but not least, if everything above fails and the other owner doesn't handle his dog, the game is on, i wil put 1 dog in front of the other so only 1 dog wil fight the second dog i have, i tie down to a post or tree and i wil be the first to call the police and explain the situation that's going on and that i have the proper means to get my dog out of the fight but the other owner doesn't and that i can't seperate 2 dogs on my own.

Sometimes it's better too work with the police then too be afraid of them.
They are not all assholes and if you have the law on your side and did nothing wrong they can't take your dogs or what so ever and over here they compliment you on the way you handle the situation.

Some good advise there lads the thing is joe that only works if u see them coming I was walking down the street the other month and a springer spaniel came flying out of a house at me and I have never seen a non bull breed look so angry lol teeth out I had no choice but to panic lol I did the same sort Leash but hat to hold mine up of there front paws to keep them from hurting it while the spaniel is snapping at both mine then like some one said ealier I got tripped by my bitch and gave the big lad just a nuff slack to grab it luckily he must of knew it wasn't a treat and let go wen I shouted at him but I no if he had his hands full it would be hard work
But wen the other dogs come over for a fight then I don't feel that bad if they do get hurt its the dogs that come over trying to make friends and won't take no for a answer

I had a load of young lads think it was funny to set there rottie on my dogs one day they was soon running over crying like girls coz my 40lbs bitch had a nice death grip over its muzzle and was swinging a round playing tug I had no sympathy for them and there dog the both wanted to see a fight or to see there monster dog beat up some old lady's lab so it was funny I didn't help either just told them to hurry up and get there dog coz I can't hold the big one back any longer lol

you walk more than one at a time??? did i read that right?

  5. find help!! recruit a neighbor, anybody!!!, give them a stick and show them how to use it on one dog, and have them break the second one!

  6. if in the middle of no where, deserted island, and no one else is available, do you have any duct tape? i suppose i might try to break one dog, duct tape it's mouth shut (leave nose open so the dog can breathe) and breaking 2nd dog. yell all you want about duct tape, but i think it would be better than trying to drown the dogs! it's not like you would leave the duct tape on very long anyway. A wire muzzle might do the trick (used temporarily of course and only if secured on the dog well enough that the dog couldn't get it off very fast).

    just a couple of ideas

if you hit them high under jaw with 2 fingers on the glands he will let loose . not low in the throat . you have 2 glands under your jaw that if i put just a little pressure on them i don't care how big you are . you will do anything i tell you to if i get 1 finger on 1 grand . get the dog like you have a stick and under his jaw there's his glands . take 2 fingers and sqeeze . you have to sqeeze the grands . so if he does'nt let loose move back or front . but usually back . just feel yours and there pretty much in the same place . but you also need 1 leashed and tide down . and 5- to 10 minuntes on them if their not hurting each other to bad . you have to be calm . or you will be very tired . some dogs in 10 it's bad but most are'nt . so let them get tired so you don't get bit .

This may put some things in perspective in how dangerous breaking one can be. Before people go shoving hands in trying to mess around with duct tape.

I broke this one by myself a few months ago. Got the first one popped off and he immediately redirected to the first thing he could get, my foot.

I've had the same thing happen before but luckily was wearing steel toed boots at the time. Another time it was just me and two hard headed bulldogs I got the first broke and he clamped onto my forearm for me to release him.

Not saying a lot of these different ideas are wrong but personally I'd rather keep it simple and keep my head on a swivel.

My sister 2year old so thought it would be a good idea to stick his index finger right were the sun don't shine on my75lbs bandog wen he wasn't looking and I mean knuckle deep luckily I had him on by his collar at the time but by his reaction I think it would work but I would be quick coz for a split second he would of ripped his head off if I didn't have him and my dogs love that lil fella ESP the bandog I use the little lad as weight for drag pull sled lol but if u try it becarful coz if u did that to me while I was scrapping I would at least bit ya lol

I walk my dogs on a 12ft lead rope and carry a braking stick 12 times out of 10 the dog running lose is not going to want to mess with a true bull dog after the first nine sec. Her's what you do stay calm take your 12 ft lead tie it around the first thing you can get to that is sturdy enough to hold your dog ex: car or truck bumper, tree, stop sign pole. Stay calm grab your dog by the scruff of the neck with your hand pulling away from the other dog, stay calm take your brake stick and pry your dogs mouth open. more than likely the other dog will run off. Keep in mind to stay calm.

Lee, i have 5 of my 7 dogs here and it's very simple.
Don't put the bitches together and both males or you wil have a fight.
But both males have been raised with my bitches indoors.
It's kinda of a strange deal going on here.
Boo boo can get along with his dame and halfsister, his brother wil attack them.
But that dog can get along with my third bitch.

Before anybody trips about the indoor part, i don't crate and rotate with those cheap plastic crates that you use for transport, 1 spare bedroom is been build in too a kennel and i have these installed inside.
That's why i say learn from your mistakes.
Inside those dogs can be just as safe kept as outside and too be honest i like these kennels a lot more then those wire fence kennels i see a lot posted on this forum from the states.

i never walk more than one at a time...my housedogs (male n bitch) who do pretty darn well in the house together (of course theres an occasional spat) will redirect on each other in a heartbeat with just a glimpse of any other critter they see... and i dont need that headache. theyre hard enough to walk alone, i dont ever want to have to try to breakup my own dogs while getting tangled up in their leashes. so walking two at the same time is something i NEVER recommend. i was taught that many years ago and it makes life much easier

Understand it, some dogs can and some can't, mine just stay focused on the other animal not each other.
At least for the last 18 months, before that i only had bitches for so i always walked each dog alone.
9 years ago, i also had a father and daughter that good get along but not outside on the leash, they would also redirect.

this has worked for me with 2 females. thankfully haven't had to separate any males:
"Loop a leash and put it on one of the dogs and secure the leash to something, then grab the loose dog and with your break stick get the loose dog broke off. Will have to work on getting the one leashed broke off to. Its a bitch to get them apart by yourself but it can be done."
and yeah, try to stay calm. never tried the water of lighter
    method
