Just a heads up / reminder that snake season is upon us. Here in the south we are under some pretty dry conditions, and the snakes are on the move to find water. And while I DO live in a bit more prone area than most folks, they are out there.
Be mindful of snakes hiding spots- under bowls, houses, etc.
do a search for your area, learn what types of snakes you have- many are GOOD to have around, and help control pests. I only dispatch venomous varieties (if I could post pics from my phone, I could show you all what this year has been like up on the mountain.
be safe, and keep that benedryl on hand

Jeffer's sells a snake venom vaccine of sorts. If I was in an area with high concentrations of venomous snakes, I would probably invest in some.

Recently bought some solar powered snake repellers off ebay. They spike in the ground and emit a noise/vibration every few seconds, supposed to deter rodents as well within a 15 metre/yards radius. Will let you know in 6 months how good they are. Guaranteed not to bother pets, cats, dogs etc.

regular sized western diamongback, and def not 7 feet. Look at how the guy is holding the snake, he is using a hook. Now look at how close the snake is and how far he is from the camera relative to the position of the snake. Trick photography......a lot of ambully "breeders" on their website do the same thing LMAO. Also great dane breeders online do the same to make their dogs look taller.

Yea yea yea this guy said the guy removing it measured it, and yea its making it look much bigger than it is, the dude is around 5ft so its right around 7' and the angle and hooks is making it look much larger than it is..
trust me we went over this on the other forum lol no one was trying to do anything tricky in the picture, he just didnt really want to hold a 7' snake up close to his body after he got it out of hiding and brought it into the 110 degree heat lol

Who really cares whether it's 5 1/2 feet or 7 feet. The mofo can cause major havoc with your pooch! I've had a three dogs bitten by smaller rattlers and the outcome is always the same- A shit load of money to spend on saving your dog or risk him/her meeting his/her maker.

My view of this pic is look at how tall the guy is holding the Western Diamondback. I dont believe its 7', just by comparing the height of the man to the height of the truck beside him. It looks (to me anyway) like the height of the wheels alone damn near come up to that guys hip. But diamondbacks are a very dangerous species no matter the size!

Yea size doesnt matter ;) most of the snakes this time of year out here are pissed off good.. its to damn hot! Then someone comes and digs them out of their hiding spot lol

One thing I really worry about more than the snakes are the scorpions! I dont know how dangerous they are to dogs, but they will crawl up in places where you stick your hands and you cant see them at all..

Nothing sucks worse than getting stung by one, ruins a few days for ya!

I dont know how many times I was reaching into my aviary to put feed or water and the damn birds are all tippy toed in the back eye balling the dish like its satan and there will be a large bark scorpion right where I was about to put my hand..

They are always in with the birds for some reason, maybe because its safe and usually cooler than spots they normally hang out?
