I would never pick up if he still scratching...if u want him as brood stock then don't match him..if he's match material he will decide his fate in the box, not I!..ppl that do bulldogs I have never ever seen them pick up...either u come home a bulldog, die dead game or u die being a cur!...it's a hard a game and if u don't have the heart then stay on the porch!

Well since u don't know my BALLS then u don't know if I'm dead game or not!...this sport isn't about the owner being dead game...plenty of cowards on dogs!...u are a pet owner so I see where u are coming from...the dogmen I know it is wat it is to them..all the years I've been around I have never seen a dogman cry when he lost a dog...1) is because he probably was a cur so no use to crying over a cur and 2) is because he went out dead game and if u are into this sport that's something to be proud of not crying!

Hard to find that blood anymore. Use to see it regularly as he's from my town but now a days you don't see it very often and if you do its back aways. Charlie's loss wasn't really a loss he was picked up. Handlers had a if the other dog could go 45 with Charlie Becker would pick up. I was told Charlie was mopping the floor with the other dog but at 45 minutes a deal was a del and Charlie was picked up. He beat stps Zorro so you know he was a good one.

I think it was the hour not 45 mins and I spoke with a gentleman that was there and he said Charlie wasn't mopping the floor with Country and that Country was working on top around stoppage time. He said Becker cockiness was nothing could stay with Charlie but Country wasn't just hanging he was fling work as well..

LOL That mentality is the problem with the newer generations of dog men. A real dog man would rather save a good dog like Buck, Mayday, Machobuck, barracuda, Tornado, Queen, ect, ect, than loose the dog. A good dog man knows he can always pay forfeit and come back another day and win. To let a really good dog die is fucking retarded it has nothing to do with the sport and having a dead game dog it has to do with pride and ego and not knowing when to just cut your losses to save a good dog. If you have seen the dog has done everything it can but is loosing to the point of no return and the dog has a damn good proven record you would be a fool not to pick the dog up to go again another day. There is a difference between a truly dead game dog and a dead dog that died because the handler didn't care enough about his game dog to save it and allowed the dog to go beyond it's capability the dog was dying and had no chance to redeem itself and the handler let the dog continue hoping the other dog would quit first. I am willing to bet there are plenty of great dogs we speak of today that any great dog man of the past would have saved in a heart beat had it come to the point of loosing the dog. If a dog is willing to fight to the death for it's handler you better be ready to save it that's how I see it. Sometimes it's just not possible to save them that is why dead game should be a rare thing. And dog men not crying? They are men with human emotion just like any other breathing human being wether they cry on the inside or on the outside it doesn't matter you let Ken Allen loose Tornado and bet you don't see tears. I have heard stories of some grown ass men crying in the box because of what they saw. So I am not trying to hear all this crap the people you know are not dog men they are idiots and would be the first to loose their best dog and not even know it because money was the only thing that mattered to them at the end of the day.

You would show more respect to the sport and the dogs when you pick up if you can't win,,, And come back another day with a better dog.

then the people you run with are the biggest fucking retards in the bulldog world. it hardasses like you and ur boys that make honorable dogmen look like idiots and scum to the piblic and by the statement i can tell you dont run with a seasoned crowd most dogmen pick up not all but most what they choose to do after is there choice but most dont let a half dead dog get drug around the pit .

having a dead game title to me for a dog i can respect that cause the dog earned it, but like saidie said if a dog is getting completely dominated n being mauled but still trying, why end up with a dead hound? arr idk just seems like a finacial lose n a good dog lost, walk away n fight another day

There is a difference when u are doing dogs then when u are online doing dogs!!...lol...u talking about JA would have picked up wit qoh???..ha!..do u even kno JA???...I've seen dogs get mopped the fuck up for 2hrs and come back and win!...the only way I pick up if I knew I had been rubbed or some type of tech...other than that he will be left down...it's plenty of ol'timers that are not picking up, plenty of good dogs have died because their owner didn't pick up!...alot of ppl don't believe in picking up!..it is wat it is Sadie!...homer didn't get picked up and he died, mm didn't pick a couple of them up and they died!...u talking about "this is wat is wrong with todays generations"...sorry to tell u this sweetheart but it was going on back then and will continue!...when u match u better be prepared to lose ur dog cause it happens!....if that dog means that much to u then why are u matching him??...wats the point??..if he is that valuable to u then leave him at home so u can breed him...I understand why the owner said he would pick Zebo up but after he found out who he was going into he made the decision that I'm not picking up and if Zebo would have died it would have been just that!...some of us can deal with this game and some of us can't!...I lot of u pick up because u kno ur hound is about to cur so u want to save him to peddle pups off of him, not where I'm from!...we do dogs!!...to each its own but believe me when it's showtime and the purse is 50,000 I highly doubt u will pick up either!

LOL A good game dog like Tornado is invaluable $50,000 on the line is chump change to save a dog like Tornado. You Do the math internet warrior ... If I were back in those times matching dogs and had to make a choice to save a good dog I am saving it and coming back to clean up another day.

There is nothing worse than a person who pretends to be something they are not. I own pets that come from good stock and real dog men. I am not ashamed of it and when I take my dogs out in the spotlight I am doing the breed a justice by promoting my dogs in a positive light which is more than I can say for you tough guy. Your dogs probably never even get outside the yard let alone leave the chain to prove anything. My dog's are well loved and cared for and I do my part by leaving the testing and breeding to the one's who are doing it right.

You could be right, I wasn't there ( not sure if I was even born yet lol) this story was told to me by Becker best friend whom I lost contact with after r.o.m shut down. He ran a yard of dogs down from R.B. I see Mr Becker all the time when I go buy dog food as he delivers his own holistic dog food around town ( awesome food by the way). He's pretty old these days and seems pretty soft spoken now but when he was a younger man I'm sure as a dogman he was cocky as are 95% of these guys out there involved with this breed. I've introduced myself to him as a fellow fancier of the breed, shook his hand and thanked him for his contribution to the dogs but I would never bring any questions about days gone by to him out of respect to him and his privacy. When I was going thru vet tech school years ago, my teacher, once she found out what type of dogs I had, informed me of the hard on she had to bust him. I just laughed at her as he's not in the dogs anymore and hasn't been for quite some time. Shes a real ASPCA type cunt. He's idolized somewhat around here and to see someone so hard up for this Guy was in poor taste to me. Anyway, stories seem to change all the time about this stuff ( even between people there) seeing as it was his good friend I don't doubt some this were hyped up a bit. Either way, Charlie was a bad mofo and if I beat stp I'd be cocky too... lol

Yeah I remember that part also. Both sides was trying to set up each other.I can't remember who Zebo was suppose to go into in Mexic does anybody remember?

  18. redrumdog

    redrumdog Top Dog

the reason with Zebo is that by the time the handler realize what was going on their dog was dead or close to it.Now with some matches the guys bet so much money that they was betting on the other dog quitting. Then another reason is it becomes a echo thing, that they won't pick up no matter what(that owner is an ass). You have to understand with Zebo he was in there for only one reason to kill/destroy what ever was in there with him.The owner of the other dog would be in there(too close to realize what was really happening to his dog) ,by the time they did their dog was done.

At that point Adams didn't know who he was going into, usually in Mexico you just turn in a weight and show up on that day on weight and away you go. Unless of course its a private contract match in which you would know...

By following this reason of not picking up your dog Pool Hall Red would have been killed and look she went on to win against some good dogs after being picked up .PHR was also a very good producer. Each owner makes their choice for their own reason. Some owners know the signs and pick up before their dog quits.I for one always knew my dogs and when I see my dog has done all they could and is just outclassed I PICK THEM UP. I have never sold a dog in my life .I have given some away for the record.
