LOL. But when someone said battle conditioning LMAO in no way are the top dogs in that kind of conditioning like that. I would say 90% of the top winning dogs in the ADBA are around 60% of peak conditioning. I call a lot of dogs treadmill queens kind of like a trailer queen like a muscle car show. I condition mine for me and not a judge. I get them to way I like them. But if you come in at pit weight now days you will get a judge that will over look your dog easily. I have heard more about bringing them in to light than not, that is the ADBA today. I brought mine in to light two weeks ago and I still won two first and a second but it depends on your class too. 3 years and younger is typical hard class IMO, people are proud of them. Thing that bothers me is seeing dogs in the 18 and under classes conditioned!

If people are bringing them in to light on.weight appreance that to me just shows that the conditioning was just lazy to some point cause the dog lacked the feed needed. That I have noticed in past lot of people just cut feed to try to place.

  6. Boogie better stay on the couch with them !!!

This is actually not too bad of a question.

I've always used two different terms for a better understanding. Conditioning to me was when I was preparing a dog for the box...they needed to have stamina, endurance, strength, etc. When preparing a dog for the show ring...to me it is just "shaping" a dog. Shaping in my opinion is having the "appearance" of a conditioned dog. The way I shaped a dog for conformation was probably what could be considered a pre-keep for the box...It's similar just not as as intense.

very well put....i believe they are two completely different things...one can be used for both....but the other is limited to the three or four laps around the show ring....but like i said Mr.Mark...very well put....US1
