What's the deal with deer?

I dunno if any of you fellas were/are dedicated gazzette subscribers but if any of you guys have from the 80's, (dunno witch one) theres a story bout some folks that got a dog and it hunted with the guy until it got sick, right before it died it it went out that nite and caught a deer and had the carcass in the front yard in the morning, dude found the body of the dog in the dog house.
"old warrior" i believe was the name of the story.

This is thread reminds me of where I live we got them all over the place. I see a bunch every morning when i go to work and had about 10 or so that I barely missed. I even had one run into my car while I was parked. I have also had them blow at me when i was walking my dog in the woods. I have never had a problem with them trying to attack me even when they have a youngin with them and I have been within ten feet of them (without knowing it)

 

Also about that bow hunting thing got a neighbor who hunts them right out his backyard he always has a big bowl of corn or something by the walking path lined up with the cut in the tree line behind his house and last year he built a shed bout 15 feet from the cut and bout 20 feet from the bowl and the window in the shed is lined perfect so he can get a good shot. I guess he got tired of being in a tent all night LOL

 

yea I just thought it was funny I aint never heard no one scared of a deer ,and all that bullshit about laws and hunting,look I was 15 till I knew deer had horns, I thought we had to allways skinn them in the barn so no one would pull up and want some. and I never would have thought about hunting in the day light wow them fools dont know shit day time hunting what a waste of time. at night thats when there eyes shine back at you. thats how I grew up. we did it for food

 

Lol I shot most of my best deer when the moon was out and they are tasty critters

 

Had Deer Meat Manwiches the other day for lunch. Very good stuff.

 

I checked with my buddy where I live he can't discharge a weapon to hunt them. He did say he can use his bow and do it on the low lol I don't really care as long as he takes ou a bunch of them so they don't come near my family or my pets.

 

Are you talking about deer or bear's I don't think deer are in the danerous predator catagory I think you will be alright

I was just telling a buddy at the feed store about how in the land of nuts and fruits they have so maney deer the pit bulls are scared. I wish those were the kind of problems I had to deal with.

 

I'm not afraid of deer at all but those dirty animals
Carry ticks and fleas so I don't want them near my property. If I had a gun I'd shoot them all on the spot. They are cute and all but I dot want any bugs on my dogs that they can possibly bring back to my 9 month old son.

 

If you're taking care of your dogs properly ticks and fleas wont get on them. Dirty animals. lol Sounds like you need to move to the concrete jungle. Do you spray your yard? A cat, mouse, coon, possum, birds or a number of critters passing through your yard can carry parasites in. You and your dogs are missing out on some good eating.
