I have been using shitty cheap shoes, and work boots for far to long, and I am looking into getting a good pair of cross trainers or other walking shoe as I enjoy getting out and just going for a walk when work, and weather permits. I am looking for something light weight, durable, supportive, and comfortable.....don't have a preference in brands though. I know people's feet vary greatly, but I just wanted to hear some reviews or suggestions from others. What is your walking shoe of choice and why?

i like new balance i got a decent pair for 40 bucks however they lasted me about a year i bought them at dicks sporting goods make sure you mesure your foot right i had to get mine a size bigger and xtra wide because your feet start to swell after long walks or runs.. they also have insoles that help alot to if your going to be driving hard.. keep in mind that the pair got where only 40 bucks and i put the min of 800 miles on them so i guess it wasnt to bad of a deal.

    Egotistical jerk! JK, man, lol....

I'm going to the city tomorrow for awhile to do a couple things so I am going to stop by a shoe store and check out a few shoes. Thanks for the suggestions I will take them into serious consideration while I am trying them out. CG, I too also hate those loud ass shiny clown shoes.

anything made out of a vibram sole will outlast anything you can invest in short of tire treads, they won't be cheap, but you get what you pay for, especially for rugged settings

New Balance is also one of the few companies that make cross trainers in different widths, like dress shoes.

I average going through about a pair a month. I have different pairs for different things. I train, train others, hike, condition dogs, etc.

If your on your feet for most of the day, training, running, or just need good general footwear the I strongly suggest you buy a good pair. Foot problems travel up. Some symptoms from wearing the wrong footwear are sensitive balls of foot or sensitive heals, shin splints, knee joint discomfort, and restricted hip mobility.

Gels are not an Answer to problems and and will not help if your foot wear arch doesn't match your foot, if you are an over pronater, or if you have wide feet with toes that need to splay.

I recommend for everyone to own a pair of Sanuks. Look them up they are very comfortable on feet and easy to wear for general quick use.

For performance I am a fan of Nike, Asics, and Brooks

The Vibrams workers are great for guys that work on their feet all day in the elements.

    Hope this helps somebody.

For city walking my old school jet black J's. If hiking in the woods gortex timberland crosstrainers. The tims are gray with a little color on the tongue but nothing clownish. Finish line or Dicks
