    What? You mean spay/neuter?

If you cant keep it contained 100% without a shadow of a doubt, you should probably fix it. I however like my dog intact, even though he is a mutt and wont ever be bred, his bits were put there for a reason.

I dont get why its called de-sexing.. the dog is still the same sex, it just cant reproduce.. de-sexing seems a lot more invasive lol

Hmm, i wished i had read that info earlier, as i have already got it done on vets advice to have it at 5 months.
i have no intentions of breeding her and alot of my mates have male dogs and i dont want any accidents but after reading bout those side effects probably wasnt such a good idea.

can u tell me why spaying would depend on the individual?

Some breeds have a higher risk of mammary tumors than others. I think it mentions Golden Retrievers as one that is more prone to them. I don't think that bulldogs are particularly predisposed to mammary tumors so I would probably not spay an APBT. But terriers are more likely to have them so I WOULD spay a Patterdale for example. That and pyometra are really the main concerns with unaltered bitches.

so i assume if u wouldn't spay an apbt then u wouldn't do it to a staff.

cheers mate i only wished i had researched this earlier.
