  1. I give all mine their shots.I only take them to the vet if they are sick and for their rabies shots.I keep records of the shots I give so the vet has the same info as me on each dog I bring in.

Thanks for the input guys! I trust my uncle but never really tried this stuff, I mean he's being breeding dogs for more than 20 years and I've just started for about 3 years now. So he suggested for me not to waste anymore money at the vets plus long waits and so he send me some 7 in 1's.

Good to hear that alot of people with dogs are very honest! Most people keep everything a secret.

I do(did) all of my own vaccinations.I don't trust half of the stores who sell them because when my Chops(RIP) was 10 weeks old,I had run out of vaccinations and ran up to my barn to buy one for him to keep him on my schedule. He had a reaction to the distemper in the vaccination. They said probably because it wasn't handled right. So from then on I order strictly from Jeffers and have them sent stright to my house still on ice.Pay the extra $2.50 for the ice pack and foam container. You can buy single or bulk.

Also, when you give shots, you should draw back on the plunger a bit to make sure you have no blood going into the syringe as this is a shot to go under the skin, not into the bloodstream. My vet said to go ahead and do my own rabies shots, just don't do it for anyone else.

It's a shame you don't live near me. One of our vets owns 2 (but they also own 56 Treeing Walker Coonhounds) & hunt with them. Can't get any better than that. [IMG]
