    False! The reason body builders eat raw eggs is for the protein and anytime you cook or boil anything you loose nutrients! We have to cook food bc we don't have the same immune systems as dogs. We feed them raw meat bc it has more nutrition than cooked meat. The same reason why they tell you to eat ur steaks as raw as you can! They are more healthy than a well done one. I don't see the sense is cooking away nutrients...

    Guys protein is easy denatured. I can't speak of raw eggs with dogs but protein is protein and protein denatures from heat, processing, and time. Best eggs for raw consumption have orange yolk which should be easy to find in the country. The volume eggs with yellow yolk I would not recommend raw. One rule of thumb about denatured protein is that it gives gas. That is very common with old or generic protein powders. Most protein products are products of marketing Hope this helps.

    I'm a bit of an amature "eggspert" and I will NOT eat yellow yolks (store bought eggs).The orange yolks (farm or yard fresh) have all you and the dog need from and egg.Dream Pits and BBT are right.

    WTF are u talking about, cooked foods are harder to digest than raw foods.
    I guess in the wild dogs with lower immune system threw their food on the grill huh?

    The main point of feeding eggs is for the protein. That protein is used by the body to rebuild muscle tendons after strenuous workouts. The egg white is where the protein is located, the yolk has other various minerals along with the cholesterol, which could obviously be bad in high amounts.

    Eggs are a ok protein source because of the price and simplicity; with that being said though, there are much better alternatives.

    Eggs are one of the fastest absorbing proteins, their is a reason I use them along with the other things I feed.

    Not really fast absorbing. But, then again the speed of absorption is kinda irrelevant since most muscle rebuilding occurs while asleep. Also, when you mix eggs with the dog food, the fats in the dry food slow down the rate of absorption of the egg protein. Whey protein is absorbed at a much faster rate.

    Protein = rebuild the body
    Carbs = energy

    Primary humanoids evolved into the human we know today after they started using cooked animal protein, not raw. About cooked foods, ingredients etc it depends, tomato supply in antioxidants is far better when cooked. By the way, cooked meat is easier to digest than raw, in humans always.
    Dogs are dogs and humans are humans, the same rules shouldn't necessarily apply to both, I am a fun of raw feeding and that is what my dog eats.

    I feed my dogs eggs soft boiled with the shell. Not saying its the right way but that just what I do!

    Each of our dogs get one whole raw egg every other day and I never find shell in their waste. Never had any negative issues besides people wondering why their coats are so nice.

    1.) Yes Whey is absorbed faster than egg but eggs are still one of the faster absorbing proteins. If you don't see why its important to incorporate a fast absoring protein then that's ur fault bc its common sense.
    2.) What is it u could possible gain from the shell IF ur dog did absorb it? Maybe a gram of calcium? Not sure how that'll help the dogs coat but if that works for you go for it. Most people feed the shells, like I said it doesn't hurt the dog but its kinda pointless.
    3.) Oh yeah, it def is harder to digest cooked meat. Look up the reasons why a medium rare steak is ideal versus a well done one.

    i used to believe myself that the eggs shell provides calcium. im sure it does just the small amount that gets digested into the body, but not all of the egg really gets digested as much as we think. i think in order to get the full level of calcium from the egg you have to grind it up into a powder form. that is the only true way to get the calcium level that is in the eggs shell into the system of the dog. im too lazy i just throw the damn egg in and call the dog fed lol. its the reason i add yogurt to the meal and multivitamins regularly.

    My point is no one feeds eggs for calcium, that comes from another source.

    exactly. feeding eggs solely as a calcium supplement is a tad silly. here is a chart that gives you the reason in numbers that i feed whole raw eggs. Egg Nutrition Chart

    and i feed the shell because of the membrane that is attached to the inside of it. I figure it probably offers some nutritional value, and it certainly doesn't hurt to feed the shell. my dogs like it. they seem to enjoy the crunchiness.

    also, i feed the free-range organic brown eggs. i figure eggs that come from non-hormone/antibiotic injected chickens have to be better. not to mention free-range chickens have access to more variety in the diet, possibly leading to better nutritional value. and, not that i think my dogs give a rip about the taste, but i think they taste much better than those ole regular white eggs.
