Does it have hexane in it? Hexane is a no no with dogs. I used to use the Solid Gold flax seed oil. Here's their dosage chart....

Honestly though, I didn't have much luck with the flax. I much prefered the fish oil, that is for the dogs that aren't allergic to it.

I use a gell tab from Walmart that has fish flax seed and borage oil. omega 3,6,9

  5. Ditch the flaxseed oil for sure and get some fish oil.

There is a HUGE difference in fish oils out there as it is an unregulated product.....just like the flaxseed oil.

Here is some quality stuff you should be pleased with.

I agree go for a pharmaceutical grade fish oil instead.

42 brands of flax oil in the US were tested and 40 were rancid.

I like fish oil and milled flaxseed better. It is nice and milled up and does wonders for the skin.

    Some basic stuff about Flax.
It starts breaking down, oxidizing, going rancid, As Soon as It Is Milled.
All fats do this ,including Fish Oil. Flax does it Faster than any other commonly used sup.
Buy the oil{ANY OIL} and ,if it has not started to turn on the shelf,it will as soon as you open it,and store it. Some much faster than others.
    Tip ,Buy small amounts,freshly made.
Or ,use Flax as nature intended.Buy fresh ,well stored seed and grind in a coffee grinder, just before eating. This would be fresher than any fish oil you can buy. Also, less mercury.

I like Grizzly brand salmon oil, and have heard good things about the seapet, but recently someone suggested this brand, which comes in an epoxy-coated pump bottle (to avoid toxins from the plastic bottle). I just ordered some today. The person who recommended this likes to alternate salmon with anchovy/sardine. This company claims low/no mercury. Also, I know people who use krill oil, which is very high in EFA. But if you use krill oil, you have to make sure the company does not use xylitol as a smell/flavor neutralizer, as xylitol is deadly to dogs.

i find it more economical for me atleast and easier to buy the pill form at CVS. they usually have those buy one get the other type of deals their. i only give 1 fish oil pill with the meal myself atleast 4 days out the week and then on sundays i give 1 can of sardines ontop of the food. fish oil is all you need and if you stick to the liquid 1 full tablespoon is good enough.
