  2. Honestly, if you are shipping out and not going to be around to watch the dog I would put him to sleep. Leaving him with a girl who he has already made aggressive advances towards just sounds like you setting her up for disaster. Also, how good is this girl with dogs? Putting her safety aside for a moment you need to determine if SHE can reasonably handle a dog that wants to bite people when you are not around. Even if she doesn't get hurt it would sure suck if you came home and she was sitting in jail on charges on dangerous weapon charges and murder - which is what people get charged for when their dog severely attacks or god forbid kills someone. Could you forgive yourself for leaving her with an animal she was not prepared to handle?

  3. There is a big difference between a stable guard dog and a dog that tries to bite people the second someone raises their voice. That is not being protective, that is being dangerously OVER protective and is not a dog for the average person to have. I also own protection breeds and if someone is raising their voice to me my Akita puts herself in between me and the threat and observes the situation. She, like ANY good protection dog, would never make a move to bite or attack based on a loud voice alone.

  4. as people have responded to this i have showed her every word of advice and we decided this was the plan.. muzzle for walks and if her brother or mom comes downstairs, in the crate while other people come over, and she walks him feeds him and gives him dicapline(??) while im home and see what she and i think is the best cource of action when august rolls around.

He has never showed any signs of agression towards her while shes not yelling at me in the time he has been here, she can pull a chicken quarter out of his mouth if she says drop it he will listen. and about her being able to handle him, iv seen her pull the dogs apart when they start playing rough. she handles them with athority before i get there to grab waldo and calm him down.

I agree completely, this dog doesnt need a prong collar, he doesnt need to be neutered, sorry its not what you want to hear but that dog should be PTS, and it should have been done way before the dog bit a person the second time.
