Watchdog was originally created as a hog dog line. Bigger heads and bodies for more weight and power. They were a good APBT line (in that they consistently produced good hog dogs and were pure APBT) until around the late 90s then the Bully guys basically took over the whole line and ruined it. I have seen a couple of Colby Watchdog dogs, as a guy I met a few years back had basically nothing but that stuff on his yard. Most of the dogs were pretty big. One young male in particular seemed extremely promising as a hog catcher with another not too far behind him. 2 of the dogs (both bitches) were separated because they liked to fight and the rest all got along happily lol.

Just thought I'd share this, even though probably no one cares lol.

About two years ago I was sent a female pup as a gift that is 3/4 Colby and 1/4 Watchdog. She is 48lbs and is without question the smartest hound I have ever owned and has amazing structure, is very athletic with the sweetest personality. While I wouldn't say she is "cold'' she can no way compare with my Earl crosses in terms of what we all admire in the breed. Either way I love her though she will not be breed...is what she is and that's an awesome housedog.

Watchdog isn't a bloodline it is a Kennel that Cassie owned. Cassie had a long history with this breed.
I can assure you Cassie dogs weren't all used for hog dog work. i.e. when he bred Holland's Liz 2xw to Ch. Turtle Buster.

some can be game some infact most watch dog is not bred for game they are bred for many other reasons but im sure somewere some one still breeds them and might have a lil sucsess what ppl dont realize u can take the worste lines breed them together if two good individuals are the parents its not gonna matter how there bred its coming down to who owns the lines and why there breeding it not ohh that is a jeep dog lol but its all about what you want look for and strive to see in your program if i had watchdog blood id go threw it just as any if some made the grade then great remeber for all lines only good individuals make any line still valued by there own performances and productions worry about your own marks and get your dogs from real dog men not peddlers but guys that have working minds intact for there programs
and that these days wont be found much in watch dog pedigrees
