Black dogs...

Thanks guys. It's not often I get Black dogs, usually theyre seal. Maybe one in every other litter or so will be jet black. Always have white markings though never all black.

 

Years ago I had A red gyp throw A litter of solid blacks except for one had A thin white blaze down the muzzle! Only time I ever saw that!

 

What color were their eyes?

My buddy Dirty liked black dogs the best,,,
he also said you could see their health in their coat,,,
and when conditioned they look the best and shine like a race horse!!!

Being a bit older man raised in mississippi,,,
I asked him if he liked black dogs because he was pro black???

He said Sure and you can see where a black dog has been by their scars of valor just like mine
and recalled bringing a black dog home from the islands fresh out the box with indian ink on the scars...

I teased and asked,,, well if that indian ink settles in the wounds,,, will the dog lose his valor???...

As I've mentioned in the past, my friend bred a heavy Alligator dog to
a heavy Alligator bitch. The president of the Empire state PBC bred them both I believe. (1991?)
All the pups were always black, but with a white blaze/stripe, paw ect.
The bitch I got from him was SOLID black. Evert toe-nail was black. not
a spec of white. I loved that dog. She bit /killed birds, small animals, puppies ect. If it moved...
she bit it. Not a Man-biter but very "cool" towards strangers. I still have her org ADBA papers.. not
sure if I post it could some pull up the pedigree?
