Bloodlines who never had fight ???

Let see the positive side of this thread u are asking before buying so is good. But unfortunaly u cant own an apbt cuz as everybody saids this breed was created to be agressive against other dogs. So i recomend u to get another argentin dogo or a rhodesiand ridgeback. There are many other breeds that are athletics and tolarate other dogs. So good luck dude.

 

My suggestion would be to get a different breed.Sure,there are cold dogs that might fit your situation but you never know for sure what'll happen.The APBT was bred for the sole purpose of dog matching so there's a good chance they will be dog aggressive.I would say if you wanted to do agility work,and have a good pet to instead get a border Collie but they can also be aggressive too,just like any other breed.Depends on the dog.But I would suggest that the APBT probably isn't for you.

 

Get a collie. Not the Border Collie. May be a lil too aggressive for your needs. A sheltie is good at agility and cute doing it. Please do the breed a favor. Don't get one.......:mad:

 

Prediction; He is going to get an APBT no matter what anyone tells him. In about one year it will be put to sleep for acting like a bull dog! :mad:

 

exactly what i was thinking..he wants a dog that is good with other animals and non aggressive. so he picks the one breed that has been created to do the exact opposite.O.P you came on here because you don't know shit about the breed and you were looking for advise from people that have worked with them for years.this is not the breed for you based on what you said you wanted.these are working dogs that have been bred for over 100 years to be the complete opposite of what you want. you asked for advice and you got it....please don't make an innocent dog suffer for your stupidity.

 

I was just curious,what is it about the APBT does the OP like so much and why does he want one? Like was already said,he's picking the one breed that has been bred for 100 plus years to be the exact opposite of what he really wants.Getting one would be bad for you,bad for the dog and bad for the dog it might come into contact with.The APBT is a great breed as long as you fully understand what you have.But always assume dog aggression with the breed and that way you won't be caught off guard.

 

This subject is such trouble to even dream on , Point blank there is no reality to what you want.Sure PB's that only want to fight any dog they see are out there and might be from CH lines or not .
& mellow dogs from the gamest lines are also to be found .
What you really have to understand is if your a person who just wants the breed for your own reasons ?? DON'T fool your self - comparing dogs from game lines to dogs that never fought . UNDERSTAND what these dogs can do in 30 seconds. In 30 seconds these dogs can harm another dog faster then you can sneeze, & given the personality's of dogs you Will get caught out there.
For me the safest APBT i had were true APBT's from game lineage i found them stable & safer then BYB non game what ever breeding . Remember they are all Pit Bulls. But Game dogs can be safe if not the best choice.

 

When i say safe its relative to PB's - your way safer with a Beagle Dog.

 

For all you that say get a lab or a retriever and think they are calm and lazy, well you have never seen either one from working dogs otherwise you would know better. They may not be dog agressive but they sure as hell aren't calm or lazy. They look more like street dogs than they do their show counterparts as well.

And I highly doubt that the "dogo" is a real one either. My friend breeds Dogo's for hunting and he has terrible problems with dog agression among them until they get schooled out with the boars and puma's.

I recommend a nice gold fish.

hey sea serpent used to have alot of siamese fighting fish when i was younger or as we call them 'fighters' really beautiful fish but they would fight like no other also they would get in some good holds also lol. Real warriors those and you could also school them on what to expect. Real nice low impact animals was just thinking about getting a few today surprised to see them here

 

I agree.I've been around several dog breeds and most can and will show forms of dog aggression.I've even had hounds that liked to fight as much as they liked to hunt.

but your chances will be bigger, id say you try to contact some breeders and talk about the characters of their dogs and listen to their advice.
you say they r fat? they r fat because they get 2 much food. thats the way it is with most show am staffs, but who says you cant give it a nice line.
then get a dog from another sex and u will be all fine

If a TRULY COLD dog could be had they would have value , I think when you consider how many owners of PB's out there really don't want the fighting aspect and even make believe there dog is not that way ,I dare say it would be just as hard to create a line of cold dogs as game dogs. I for one could deal fine with a cold dog. A COLD DOG better retain the most important temperament of the PB " Human Love " to the end

Then an APBT isn't what you're looking for! Like everyone else said, do your research adn get to know the breed on a more physical level before you even think of getting one. It is a priveledge to own one of these dogs.

 

If the breed has "bull" and "terrier" you're going to have higher odds of a dog that doesn't like strange dogs, period. A Pit Bull certainly isn't for the OP and whatever way you go you better be mindful when in the presence of other dogs.

Also, just to throw this out there, "Turning On" does not mean snapping, as in your dog suddenly snaps. A dog is a dog is a dog, and some dogs don't like each other, in most cases with pits the pit will be the victor, and the prejudice against the breed will be your enemy at that point. My pit is "dog friendly" and on her last days, and the number of dogs that weren't mine that I let her play with for her 14 years on this earth is ZERO, and she was the most dog friendly I have ever had. You get a pit, you raise it with your own dogs, acknowledge it may kill one, and don't let it play with other peoples dogs. You do that and you'll never make the news.

 

get a cat and be done with it.
