If you could only choose 1 exercise method to work your hounds, what exercise method is best and why?

    • Handwalking
    • Slat Mill
    • E-Mill
    • Carpet Mill
    • Jenny
    • FlirtPole
    • SpringPole
    • Swimming
    • Weight Pulling
    • Resistance Training (small chain attached to hanging tire while playing fetch)
    • Tug Of War
    • Other

I like the flirt pole, the flirt pole test there reaction time while making the dog jump/lunge for the flirt pole is great exercise. :dog:

Working for the best conditioned dog using only 1 type of exercise.

If you had to choose only 1 exercise and you wanted your dog in top condition, which exercise would you choose and why?

Hmm, I'd say swimming. Easy on them and works just about every inch of them... If I can only pick one.

Yeh swimming is ideal as it puts no stress on joints, I used to be able to rip my old girl up in two weeks with a flirt pole!!

I would say swimming but I handwalk much more because we have to drive to get to water.

You can condition a dog for anything with a flirtpoled. If I had to pick one, it's a flirt pole!

I use the flirt pole and spring pole as well as daily walks but I say flirt em' if it's down to one choice.

Depends on the dog as well....Flirt pole isnt doing much if your dog lacks drive. Never saw a dog that wouldn't walk, but then again there's some lazy hounds in general. Depends on the dog :D

The trick to a flirt pole is to drink beer or cider whilest doing it!!! Works a treat for me :D

Handwalking is a good thing, but it's a rare human who can walk a bulldog until it's worn out.

Not to mention a lot of people don't have good place TO walk. Damn loose dogs, idiot people, dirty roads(meaning glass and shit everywhere).. Or at least that sums up my area

Whereas I can get a big old tub and hook it up right and it can sit in my backyard..

I like playing fetch with a large red Kong (black one`s don`t bounce enough) besides the usual results from sprinting the dog learns to change direction fast and also you don`t get the same muscle imbalances as you do from chasing a ball.
