Bob Wallace could never be called a peddler

I like to look back a few generations of damn near any pedigree I open, see what common dogs some of us have had, see how the breeding progressed, see which Colby dog is the most printed etc...and I can't recall seeing any with any Wallace blood, or if they were I can't remember them.

I know he bred them for family and friends, and just tested his strains to make sure they're up to snuff, but I still would have figured I'd see a few pop up more than they do, I mean surely he had to outcross and studded a dog out a time or two.

So, does anyone have a dog with some Wallace in it? Also, I can't believe the man took his line with him, it's very cool, very sad, and very morbid all at once. :sonn_u11:

He was in it for the love of the dogs and didn't want to see his lifes work screwed over by what he called the Pepsi generation. That's the way it should be can you imagine if the line would have been put in the hands of people he didn't know or trust you would have mass producing yards like TG or PP.Can't due anything but show respect and pay homage.

According to Stratton on of Mr Wallace's regrets was he didn't breed his dogs more. One dog in particular was king cotton.

Sure do wish Wallace let more out especially the red strain. I can see it now... there'd be guys fussing over who's got the highest percentage Wallace blood like they fuss over who's got the highest percentage Hemphill blood!

Yep, Razor's, Gotti, Mugleston, and Camelot can't corrupt that line.

Yeah, I regret him not doing that too, Wallace's Toney would have been nice too.

I remember reading a write up on hellcat, panthol and the rest of that bunch. They were rolled with some of the last of the Wallace dogs that he had farmed out due to his health. Long story short the Wallace dogs were completely outclassed. So no need to get all down about not being able to find any.

bob wallace would be embarrassed at what so called dogmen pass off as OFRN dogs these days. dogs bred and peddled to newbies for the last 40 years. bred for color, not for performance.

I agree 250% with you BT! wallace didn't want his dogs to wind up like the Hemphill/Wilder line!

There was a guy on peds online who had a pedigree of mostly all the dogs Wallace had at the end which were mainly Tudor/Corvino crosses and if my memory is correct I think Stratton's Bad Red was sprinkled in it also. Bad Red was one of the last pure OFRN Lightner dogs Wallace had before his death and was given to Stratton.

Wallace sold dogs but not many...the definition of a peddler is someone who sells dogs irregardless of QUALITY!

NorCal I agree with your statement 350%! Have you noticed the only people who argue is the HAVE-NOTS! The HAVES just state FACTS and let the NUMBERS & PERFORMANCE speak for themselves!

CrazyHorsey... I agree with you 396.3%!! You "HAVE-NOTS" quit arguing everytime someone with an OFRN post anything about red dogs! :D

Inspired by my own thread I finally found some, but they sure are few and far between, and of course they're buried because of time.

But I checked out your guys reds, very nice. I have never owned one, and I would think about it, but I would be very snobby when it came to getting one, it would have to be one of the top breeders, not just one with a red nose. Not many dogs out there were better looking than Maude.
