In the past i did al the traditional stuf.
But with the last litter i was already on the BARF menu with my dogs.
    At 3,5, 4 weeks old i started
The first week i gave them the pre made menu, sliced meat with crushed bones and organs.
And from week 5 i gave them just raw chicken necks, hearts, fish you name it they eat it and never had a problem with them.

Fed pork for a good 2 months & the dog never looked better. Think all the fat does them good if they are well exercised.

yeah I would say they can very well start during puppy hood, I would have done this but I didn't switch over to raw until she was a year and a half only because I was not sure on how to go about it. Until I learned from here and a couple of other sites and have been glad to have made the switch.

Plenty of ppl here feed pork............but you want to deep freeze it for say about 12 to 14 days at -18 degrees + .lt's best to freeze in bulk then. lf you feed thin pieces like bacon or thin chops etc... no need to freeze more than a week:)

I just find most other meats don't have enough fat..when I feed pork my boys shines and he has over average energy. I got a bulk of humane grade grocery store meat so I don't think the freezing cycle was necessary I think thats for wild caught meat.

wont hurt em but bacon is very high in sodium, dont over do it.

fat is great for dogs especially when working them hard, they need the calories.

i've fed pork necks, liver and kidneys with no problem. sometimes freezing for two weeks. other times straight from the store. most of the time i freeze it for two weeks, i'll have chicken or other pork already thawed. doesn't hurt to be cautious.
