Just do your research. I've been doing research on my next dog for about 1.5 to 2 years now and I still have another 4 or more years until I know for sure what I want. Are you willing to wait that long if you have to?

must people explain their reasoning for having a timeline? what in the world has this come to? perhaps this person is in military service? perhaps they arent looking to have but X amount of dogs in the yard, and just waiting on nature's course, perhaps they are renters and are waiting on becoming home owners, could be they just havent bumped into what they are looking for yet. i applaud this behavior, they are living creatures, they are not meant to be traded like baseball cards, or dumped into shelters when the fancy wears off. if you want to wait- all the power to you. its a rare find-those who are disciplined.

to the op- as stated, go to some shows and see what strikes your fancy. strike up a conversation and go from there.
there are peddlers galore out there that will try and sell you the world, stick to your guns.

 

Rally read the post they have been researching what they want for 2 years and waiting another 4 to know for sure what they want. it doesn't have a damn thing to do with anything you posted it seems they are searching for a certain dog that apparently if in 2 years time they haven't found must not exist it is so unrealistic to think that someone would wait 6 years for one dog when in that time the person could have found what they wanted through trial an error either that or they are just looking in the wrong damn place but in 2 years time i can be on the phone and do all the research needed to find what i want

Welcome, Hayne. I live near you, about an hour and a half from Charlotte, and I attend these ADBA/AADR shows in Taylorsville whenever they're around. I'm in no way an expert but I've been slowly learning about this awesome breed for a few years, and as young as I am, I'd be happy to lend some info to you if you'd like. I'll be at the Taylorsville show too... Look out for the black kid with the fancy expensive camera lmao.

LOL yeah my 6 year's a pretty long wait. I'm waiting for my current dog to pass away first. So in the mean time I'm doing my research. If I didn't have a dog now I'd take maybe a year or two to research different bloodlines and good trustworthy breeders then make my decision. Until then I'm on this forum, reading books, and researching Peds. I'm in no rush (as you all can tell).

 

Oh and it's not as easy to find a true bulldog on the West Coast. I may end up travailing to the South/Mid-West somewhere when the time's right.

 

How in the hell is it that Hayne is in north Carolina and your in Florida and neither one of you can find 1 singe bulldog breeder? Shit ain't adding up man :eek:

seriously they can google game-dog and find a million breeders. All it takes is money. When i first started all i did was find kennels and then use the search engine and read up on them. Then i'd call them up and get a feel for them myself. To be honest i never ended up gettin any of them but i just didnt find what i was lookin for
