Pure blood

Why is it that most people think that pure bloods don't work anymore? I just want to know what the people think.

 

What i can't believe no one has touch dis thread. With all the pure gene haters or none believers out there. I will speak first! It still works when bred right.

 

what qualifies a blood as "pure" and what is the purpose of having one of theese "pure" dogs if they are not capable of performing to whatever your standard is... i have pure bred apbt is that pure... no dog can be 100% of any other dog other than himself so no dog is "pure" anything... they may be purely down from a certain cross or purely bred by a certain individual... but pureness never has been and never will be what a true apbt is bred for.

Good post. I want yall to ponder on this. what is PUREBLOOD, Name one line that is pure. I cannot think of one dog that is not down from crosses. and it is funny when I hear things like I want a boyles dog well witch strain. they all started as crossed up dogs its funny whe I hear things like pure jeep well I dont think jeep was a pure strain he was a cross also so did jeep just say poof hear is another me? he had to breed something. and the facts I have seen is at some point you have to cross out. I have done maney years worth of inbreeding of my old stuff and guess what I had to cross. if you keep in breeding you will end up with nothing .

Okay, we know all of that and they are all good points. But, what I am talking about is a dog or dogs that is bred down from one strain. Like Clouse, Mayfield & OFRN etc.

 

There is not a pure line of anything nowadays! You can breed tight off a particular dog to concentrate on desirable traits and abilities to make up your pure line. But when choosing an out... you have to look at what your pure line is lacking to add. If you get it right... you will have an awesome cross!

 

bert clouse's dogs were not soley bred on one line of dog, they were battle crosses. to me the yellow dogs seem like a pure family of redboy/jocko, but once again, a cross.

 

agreed, nicely said too, now, with pure dogs, you clearly can see the flaws and weaknesses and strengths, when you cross you bring out things with the lines that are untouched, lotta times this works well for what I see.,now the prob is to get that done consistantly, the same again and again

People aren't talking about the weakness in pedigree they are talking about the weakness in dog after so much "pure" breeding.

Classee has a few shifts in her enuff to hold back the defects without crossing in stuff like redboy or ofrn and still keepin true to the mayfield strain.
