blue pits real or fake?

That dog looks seal.. ? If it was dilute at all the nose wouldnt be black.. :confused:

I don't know about the gene thing, the bitch in the pic I posted is out of a red dog and a black dog. I don't know if that dog is called seal color or what, it was just one of the litter to me. All her other siblings were either red or black.
That litter that daddycorey posted in the ped looks a lot like the color of your dog to me pookie. But I don't know anything about color genetics, I tried to read about it but found it too confusing for my neuron to handle so I never paid any attention to a dogs color. I do know that there were and are some dogs that are that color though because I have seen some and read of others and this was way before there were blue dogs or bullys around, back when you knew the breed of a dog.
I think it's funny that this question even arises, asking if some blue color dog is real or fake. The reality of a dog is not in it's color at all, in fact color has nothing to do with the breed so to ask if a dog is real or not by what color it is seems unrelated. The breed is judged based on genetics and backed by performance, as far as I can remember at least.

Had he not been born dilute he would probably have been seal like your dog, he has fawn highlights like no ones business and when the light hits him he has a complete fawn overlay to his coat.

Seal is almost black but with a red tint to the dog when light hits it. The dog you posted isnt blue though, if it was blue its nose would not be black, because blue dogs have no black pigmentation, its all dilute aka blue.
Blue dogs are just caused when both the sire and the dam have half of the gene that makes the coat colors dilute. When you breed them the puppies are able to have the full make up of the dilute color and will come out dilute instead of the regular colors.

Yea the color isnt anything special, just a genetic mutation similar to say albino.

It is a tad bit ridiculous, lol yea there were blue game dogs but since no one who breeds real game dogs breeds for color they came and went and it wasnt a big deal, all these bully people needed a hook to get money from people who wanted the next big thing or something rare or cool which is fine because bullies were created for nothing more than vanity.
Same thing with those silver labs AKA lab/weimaraner mutts.

Thank you all for the responces! I have done some research into his sire and dame and his dame was in fact half bully two generations down from Cairo. His sire is out of jeep and red dog whatever those are. Maybe that's why he's not so gorged out? I don't know. I am proud of him though and he was won a couple of small ADBA agility shows here in Oklahoma. I have toyed with the idea of going serious with it but I am not sure yet. It requires lots of travel and I have three kids so that makes it hard. The other dogs I have seen posted after mine look real good! I dont really care what he is I just want a place where I can talk about him! I have been reading a lot on this site and I like it. I agree with the issues of overweight dogs. I just wanted others opinion on him as I was still waiting for his 7 gen pedigree to get here. Now that I have it I know that to say when people ask me about him.
