Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

I've always liked the f-150. Wanted some opinions from f-150 owners, what there experience has been with their trucks, especially reliability. Would they purchase an f-150 again. The raptor looks very nice. If I were to get a truck it'll either be a f-150 or a Taco (Toyota Tacoma). thanks in advance.

 

my parents have bought 3 f series trucks since 1992 the newest in 09 so i assume theyre worth it

 

I've owned almost every maker of a truck and nothing has ever been as reliable as the F-150 I own. THey really last forever as long as you give a oil change every 3000 miles and tune up every 12K.

 

toyotas the way to go if you want reliability.

 

if you want a good reliable truck i suggest you scrap the ford idea and get yourself a Chevy.i ve owned 3 fords and have had nothing but problems with them..i have an 88 Chevy 2500 with 300,000 mi. on it and the dam thing is one of the most reliable trucks i have ever owned...rule of thumb when you buy a ford is be prepared to ''fix or repair daily''

 

Spliff........you couldn't be more right.....Fords are a pain in the ass.....go with a Chevy or Tacoma

 

i knew a guy who had taken back three fords in a row before he gave up, didnt get down the road till all three had a rod knock. that was a 2000. I like older fords. I also cant say much about newer toys either, i also like the older ones. last ones been wrecked constantly and probably hasnt had oil in it for about a year now (my father doesnt take care of anything i give him.) and it still runs. lol

 

My brother in law has a 1997 f150 4x4 that has over 300k mi on it. He off roads and hunts with it in Penn, and the eastern shore of MD/Del, so it gets hilly rocky and saltwater. He swears by Ford, I have had a focus SVT which had some problems, all under warranty but was really happy with the product-nice car. And now we just picked up a 2007 Escape after our VW finally died. My father on the other hand swore by toyota, until his 2007 camry's transmission kept leaking, they got an 09 right before it got recalled. He also has 2002 toyota tacoma single cab 4x4 which he has not had any problems with, complains about the gas mileage-he would rate it average. Oh and my father in law just got a 2009 F150 lariat, drove it down from VA to FL and back. He is very happy with that, it is a 4x4 and he recently took it out to SD quail hunting in those huge snow storms in late Dec. Got it stuck once, but it kept up in the cold.

I am currently looking at purchasing a new truck. So far I'm super interested in the F-150s. I have read some good reviews about the newer models so far. I am enjoying reading everyone's responses.

 

you couldnt give me a ford!!!!....gm all day long...more power,better gas milage,hold there value,and have a 5 yr 100,00 mile warranty...no ford can say that!!...i work for a gm dealer...put it this way...i have 2000 silverado 2wd with 190,000 miles on it...my brother in law has a brand new f150..and he wanted to race?..lol...he regreted that 1...stomped his brand new f150 by 3 truck lengths...and he has an f250 work truck that had a 3,000 lb trailer attached to it and he got stuck in his yard...and guess what? Chevy to the rescue!!i snatched that f250 with the trailer attached right out of the hole he had dug in his yard!!!...ya know fix. Or. Repair. Daily....found.on.road.dead......f***** .ole.rebuilt.dodge...:d

 

my brother in law tried a new Ford F-150 a couple of years ago with all the goodies, and he had problem after problem with that damn thing. fuel injectors went out on a monthly basis (ive been told that was an issue that Ford had to address so it must have been common) so he traded it for a new Chevy and hasnt had a lick of problems

budboy i really like your truck. i dig the square boxy style. i would like to find a similar truck but i'd paint it in a camoflage pattern with flat paint. and i would install a gun rack for the sweetass benelli i'm hoping to purchase.

 

you know it...i got a 93 cherokee with the 4.0...250,000 miles and still running strong.
