Not nessisaraly ruined but possably...... If the dog is truely bred up the ass I would feed him for a year or more to se where he is at mentaly when fully mature. Its worth the gamble if the dog is truely that well bred and if you have an inkleing that there may be a bulldog somewhere in that yearling.

At that age you cant tell, if you have the space and its a free dog and you can pay for it then why not, its worth a shot.
Just be prepared to cut your losses if it doesnt work out.
If its bred out the ass with real bulldogs I would try it

ive seen a dog written off as a cur when it was just under two, and was gifted to a friend of the origional owner who was after a pet, and within another year it was a machine. the origional owner wanted him back so bad but never got her. they areed on a breeding and three out of the eight pups came out awesome.

    id feed it

people often make the mistake of schooling a dog too young. i would take the chance on the pup and just sit on him for a year of good feed and love and then watch it transform at maturity.

Define ruined...... What are you looking for? A bulldog or a pet? When you say rescue it makes me think you're wondering if the dog can make a good pet.

if the folks that bred it thinks it a curdog then listen to them. hopeful if there able to make that call then there qualified to pass judgement on there stock. although i would have doubts about anyone giving away there curdog's. i once took a bitch from a fella who though she was a curdog. the bitch was right off "357" & the guy was a dipshit that always had well bred dogs. she wasn't a curdog or ruined just young she ended up a good dog but didn't produce shit. i could have done without her & probably should have. but if your willing to feed it then go for it.

at one year i'd take him and sit on him for a while. he may be ruined or he may just not be ready and could still turn out. i'd be wary of kennels counting culls at a year old though. sound impatient.

i really hate hearing thigs like this.clearly they not given this dog a chance what so ever.dont mean the dog has a super ped that by a year old the dog is going to show good signs and ready for a test.some dogs dont even start up to well over 2 years of age.if i was you i would take this from the person out of morals because clearly the man/woman who has him is an idiot and should be thrown in a box and beat up themselfs and see how they get on.and secondly spend some time with the dog let the dog still be a pup and grow mentally and physical and learn to trust you.to many people try to make their dogs grow up to fast and turn them into athlehtes to soon in my opinion and i dont agree with that.give the dog a chance and good things come to those who wait

    I agree...

If you're willing to feed it, give it a go. Honestly I think the dog was looked at too young. Just be patient and let it mature physically/mentally. Good luck in whatever you choose to do, hopefully he turns out to be a beast :D

i decided to get the dog. in my opinion no dog is ready at a year. even though i feel there is a far cry in a partner and a pet. i think this kid will eventually become a partner with the proper mental support.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I know of an apbt that was 22 months old written off as a cur because it got into a rumble with a patterdale/cocker spaniel mix that is 3 years old in a kennel accident. After the dog hit 28 months, he wound up being a machine. Many a dogs aren't ready till the age of 2 and before 24 months, they are still puppies.

Hears the thing man, That dog might turn out to be agood one but the odds are against him. Sorry to say but I have seen way too maney dogs ruined at a young age. If your friend was not a total shit head and got him right up he has a chance. But if he let him stay down too long where that shit got to his head. Those thoughts will allways be in his head. How maney of yall seen a hunt where it was ran out and the next time the winner went out he stoped hunting, right after the hog got real bad? same thing the winner won one it took alot out of him and whe he saw that same street sighn he said f&^% that Im going threwthe ditch on to the house.

I would like to point out that when Honeybunch was tested at 18 months, she wasn't ready and got demolished by a rough 3 year old brindle bitch. However, I think Honeybunch turned out alright :D

I am not sayin it cant happen but as you know Honney was a one of a kind dog. Im sayin the odds are all ready against him. To be honest I started a young one that did very well and went on to make High rank. But I was very young and would not do that now that I understand what you may loose. ( My own rule is 22 mo to 24 if thay are hot) not any younger hell you feed them that long why not wait till they are a man. I really hope the dog turns out good for him and I hope his frien will learn some things about dogs, But when you have two bulldogs and shit is said that happens all the time. I myself have been in that mess I lost a real nice ones hard wear (off black poison MT mans) when he was 16 mo so never again I want every thing to be grown and fully set in.

Yep way to soon! If the car didn't do anything (started) and was taken outta there quick like, than maybe it would be ok. But if it's engine did start up but stalled out soon after, In that situation I would pass on it!
