When refering to gamedogs the word cur means one of two things. One is a pitbull that is a quitter and number two is any other breed of dog other than a bulldog

  2. We have a bulldog (APBT) that runs 'em down and catches 'em all on his own....we've caught plenty with just him. He's a hard worker. We don't even have any bay dogs. Nothin' like the adrenaline rush of the hunt!

  6. There are a'plenty at the area we go to! He starts smellin' 'em and going crazy as soon as we get in the vicinity it's great. Frequently, we come up on 'em, and as long as he catches sight of it before it takes off, he's ON IT. He won't stop till he finds it. One of the times we set him loose though, we had no idea there were a couple in the brush hidin out, and ol' boy just shot off runnin, and ran one of 'em down. We had no idea where he went, we could just hear the brush crackin, then all of a sudden we hear him bark and then that pig started screamin immediatley after, lol. He's learned all on his own, because we never schooled him or anything. We got lucky. All we use is the dog and a knife. We catch 'em to cook 'em.

Does anyone know any good apbt breeders/kennels for hog hunting. Its something I want to get into. I have a couple bulldogs. One is gamebred (garners chinaman bloodline) and the other bully bred. I didn't know if I needed to get a specific hog hunting bloodline or if my game bulldog would work.

seen it done once, only cuz we were charged by a mad boar, hard to believe you can do this free range, maybe on a high fence ranch

lot funner and easier with dogs thats are bred to find hogs, apbt dogs are not bred to find hogs, hate to say it but they arent smart enough, they dont track well, they are too loud, and cant smell good, maybe in a yard, but not free range when a wild animal has equal chance to haul ass. however, i kno that everyone has opinions and has done many hard to believe things and has great dogs, but you dont see anyone breeding pure apbt dogs for striking baying and catching, these are called running catchdogs, lotts of apbt crosses tho

What are dodos like in the hunting dept ??
Do they use there nose well ??
Will they hunt out wide and go the distance to find pigs ??
    Are they busy workers ??
Would a dogo lug a boar harder than an APBT ??

The dogo is specifically bred for hog hunting, the apbt is not. So its obvious which dog is better in that department. If youve never seen a REAL dogo work, your missing out on an awesome working animal. I dont give 2 shits about the american bred ones, im talking straight from argentina.
