Dogs are here for companionship not to make you look good.

And i dont have a problem with the chains that you guys that have commented use. I get those. But when you see a 50 lb chain on a dog it throws up a red flag for alot of people.

That does not make a person a dog fighter, it just means they have no clue of what type of chain to use.

I say thank you to the people who were respectful and enlightening. I get hottheaded about things and just need to vent, and I'm sorry if i offended anyone. And I know the history of the breed including the history that doesnt involve any dog fighting.

 

I was thinking the same thing. Probably some bleeding heart PETA freak or some little kid who gets a good laugh watching a bunch of grown ups spaz out.

Although I do have to agree - anyone who puts a oversized chain of any type on their dog, let alone a 50 lb one, needs 50 lashes to their bare back with a bull whip. I just saw on Philly Animal Cops a few days ago where they seized some bulldogs & one dog had a chain on it that weighed 59 lbs. :mad:

Well just dont let em run together when u r gone cause one day you may come home to a mess and worse one of your neigbors call from the noise of a scuffle and u could be accused of dog fighting. None of us want to see that happen looks bad on all of us. I only takes one time for a bull dog to snap and that will cause a chain reaction with the 2 others. I wish you well.

 

Thank you mntman I will head your warning. The female attacks the males when she gets excited and they give her a good lashing. I'm always afraid that the female and the biggest male will get out and kill one of my horses or the neighbors because thats what they show interest in. The dog that I have as my avatar has been raised around them and respects them. He doesnt chase the fence like the other two when the horses come around but I know that he would follow suite if they were all out loose.

 

just put em in seperate rooms when unattended in wire kennels if you got em. I wish I could tell em not to fire up if they were left out alone cause I wouldnt have had to invest in magnum kennels xs 3 but u gotta. Once a pitbull attacks another animal everyone you know will ask you why dont you put the dog down or why dont you get rid of all of em...proactive!

 

Not trying to stir the pot, but can you Please clarify this statement, history of the breed that does not involve Dog Fighting??? There is NO such thing.

 

The history of them being used on farms to work and prtotect, granted that didnt come until after the beginning of the breed with baiting and fighting. And they are good hunting dogs. The dog I have as my avatar really likes to go bird hunting.

 

The neighbors dogs are always running loose and alot of people are abondoning all sorts of dogs in this area. I would hate for one of my dogs to get out and tear one of them up. do covered dog runs work well?

 

For near 250 years The Ancestors of this Breed were created and bred for Canine Combat, because some dogs that came from this breed or crosses of it turned out to be farm dogs, does NOT make that job apart of its history, The common goal with this breed for over 250 years was to perfect a perfect fighting dog. They were NOT sought after to be good farm dogs or hunting dogs, BUT Fighting dogs, does this mean that they are not good at other things?? NO, they are GOOD at just about everything, BUT that does not make these things apart of the Breeds history... That's Like saying JUST because some people in the 50's used several aridale terriers as fighting dogs that makes that breed have a fighting history when this is the furthest thing from the truth...
