Fortunately more than 80% of APBT's are the right dog. I'm a provisional tester for ATTS, I've been involved with testing for about 15 years. I've had the pleasure of seeing dozens of APBT's pass this test, as well as putting my own dogs through it.

Re: ATTS To Test Pit Bull & Bully Breed Temperaments

Anyone with a dog of any breed, or mixed breed, that is at least 18 months old, can participate in an ATTS test. It is not a test of a dog's training, like the CGC, but a test of a dog's inherent temperament. Dogs are tested 1 at a time, there is no assessment of how dogs interact w/other dogs. Dog's breed and experiences are taken into consideration during testing. For example, an 8 year old labrador that competes in obedience, agility and therapy work, is different than an 18 month rottie that has only been a kennel dog.
