the apbt are they more game now than used to be, we have been breeding for log time now, for that gameness, yet there is no single yard that produces game dogs litter after litter every year and every puppy is game, question is, since the early 1900 till now, is there any difference in gameness, is it possible to produce gameness in every single dog every litter. impossible or possible ,how long till we achieve that, another 200 years of breeding for gameness.

I felt like not many people match dogs anymore so how can all these people claim there dog to be game without testing. If theres any PB breeders that cant achieve 100% fiery dogs with tons of D.A. and plenty of ability they have bad stuff, that much is easy to acheive but I would say it takes about 30 min and heavy punishment to find out if ones game or not and they would have to test every dog. Game to me is a dog that still wants to roll with broken limbs or any serious injuries. Almost nothing can stop a game dog as long as he can suck wind they will keep pushing. I read about a gamedog finishing up a match with one eye.

I had no way to find out if my old bitch was game or not but after about 30 min chasing around the flirt pole my old heavy bitch broke her back foot on a steel hurdle i had set up to low to the ground. She either dragged her foot or it slid when it got banged and almost caught underneath, she had alot of momentum speed when she hit it, she limped immidietely but she was still jumping and going crazy for the that flirt pole all the way into the house when i was trying to put it away. She would have played another hour on that broken leg. I would say she had game in her. She ended up having a 1500 $ surgery a few years later her new owner took care of it.

hey master of game, go have a little read on what i posted about genetics mate, then ask away bro. every pup, every litter........aint going to happen even if it was possible on the genetic side of things, there are just to many veriables that come in to play to be able to successfully calculate correctly. dont forget there have been many great dogs that have lost due to enviroment, condition etc, yet with some of these you could not say they werent game. some have come back and had wins after losses, but just winning doesnt always prove gameness as we all know. you could talk about this all day and you would just be going around in circles. so at the end of the day, to answer your question, my answer is No...;)

ps. just incase your going to ask about clones mate, as i know you proberly will lol.. No. cloning dont quite work like that either.:)

IMO, no offense, but im not calling that game...nor am I saying your dog didnt get hurt..But I cant imagine my grandfathers calling game on a small injury(comapared to others) that occured during play and wanting to cont.

My grandfather was a coldhearted man who was said to cull anything doubted..(even his 7 past wifes, lol)

Im sorry but I fear the ones who are quick to label the word "game" on just anthing.

30mins aint going to cut it lol. any ruff curr can get up there. and saying a dog would have had game in it because this that etc. is rediculous, or said person does not have a correct understanding of the word.
gameness is never presumed, it is tested for and determained by such test.

fyi- you are walking a slippery slope...its not legal in europe like you think it is.
iirc there is only 1 european country where its legal, and its not and eastern bloc country.

  12. I thought it was iillegal everywhere in Europe Just tolerated in places. I heard authorities are starting to crack down on it in some of the baltic states now?

unless their will to dominate SUPERSEDES their desire to survive, they are not game.

read - only one way to find out if they want to live or scratch, and you go to jail for it.

Every dog, every litter = impossible. It's never been done,if it was that easy every dog would be dead game.JMO

i agree that it would be impossible to get every dog out of a litter or every litter, but in you opinions, what was the best litter every produced. My vote would be for the bo/.honeybunch breeding that produced jeep, charlie, missy, and holly.

I agree that example does not prove game at all, and to clarify the 30 min was not what i was impressed with its the fact that she didnt care her leg was broke she had 3 legs left. It showed me a good trait. Not claiming to have bonafide gamedogs. Im not lucky enough to have been around pre 76 i never tested any of my dogs.

100% from each litter has never happened, and more than likely never will. There have been all game litters before, but no breeder will produce all-game litters with any consistensy. just won't happen.
there is no time limit for gameness. 30 minutes for one, an hour for another, it is up to each individual dog. and remember the dog men of old were not only competing with their dogs, they were competing themselves with their eye and their conditioning, and then is was the gamble of whether one is more right than the other.
some could see what they wanted to see, or needed to see in 30 minutes, some longer, some shorter...one of the pre-1976 mentors i had use to say you needed to know what to look for, so you could know what you were looking at...if that makes sense. he would roll on several times for shorter periods, stacking the odds against him..his repsonse was gauged and he then moved forward to a show career..he was betting on himself as much as he was his dog.. i learned a lot from him...
he said gameness was completely subjective. what he seen as game the next guy didn't. what he was looking for in a dog may not be what the next guy had in mind. he said his subjective definition of game was that in the dog's mind he was winning the whole time, regardless of what was going on around him. REGARDLESS. s.

I think game has less to do with the length of a match and more with damage to the dog... If a dog comes out and within 15 minutes gets two legs,a shoulder and his muzzle crushed and when picked up still makes his courtesy scratch... That's game...
