about 150-400lbs of free meat lol! I imagine :D not like wolves, coyotes or prairie dogs. i agree with you they should have a bounty on them! what if you didn't eat pork, then dog food, or feed the homeless?

In Ottawa they have foodbanks for the Indians here and they give them Moose, Venison(Deer), Rabbit, Canadian Goose, not beef and chicken and hotdogs like the other nationality.

i hog hunt. the meat really is worthless on older larger hogs. it has a rancid sour taste. but your younger variety in the 50-200lb range have good flavor depending on what part of year it is. the hogs diet is just like our piggies we eat. good feed=good meat. as for prices ive got no clue. stock the freezer eat at will.

ok so that answers questions about the value of the pigs. If the state offered like 500 or even a 1,000 a pig I bet they could get hunters up there to take care of the problem. Shoot, we would go and bag some if the money was right.

Watched and taped the show. :)Some good dog action for sure, thought it was a good show all in all. Glad there's finally some thing PRO hunting on those channels...
I think it would be a good idea if the state Fish and Game would all have a bounty on the pig's heads! Millions of them in this country and spreading like the plague, but here in CA we have to pay to kill a boar.... Way to solve the overpopulation problem! They aren't native animals, don't put them under the category of "game animal". I remember I did a whole project about this for ecology class....LOL

What is this you all are watching? I want to see if I can find it!

love the video. props to discovery channel for the excellent footage. the only thing that would've made it better is if they took a bunch of those tree huggers from peta and dropped them in the middle of those hogs. they wanna save animals so bad i'll bet those hogs could use a hug. i'd watch that video all day long.

Ive hunted them my whole life we trap them and even shoot them at night. In my state they will allways be here and I dont care how much you hunt them they will still keep breeding. I dont think they need to put a bounty on the pork I think states need to open up land to hunters and work with land owners to let hunters hunt the pigs. The problem with Florida is we have lost of woods we have millions of acres of state land they wont let us on. Its not like it used to be 25 years ago you found some woods you hunted Now the golf corses and the big money is here they lock ya up for turning the dogs out.

That is truly a shame when they close off land to hunters like that. I think the state shoots it's self in the foot when it comes to closing land off but yet they are over populated go figure.

could you catch live feed and slaughter after 3 months of good grain to make the meat better!?
someone mentioned it being poor meat to eat but, I've heard before black pigs in general are not preferred as a commercial meat pig , True or no?
the meats a different colour i forget whet the ol'Timer said :o

Ive eaten them my whole life. The meat is fine. What we do is cut the small boars nuts so they grow faster and taste better. We cut off the tail also so when you want one you shoot the ones with out the tail. Every one feeds corn in the woods so they get a good amount of corn in them. As far as black hogs ya know the saying its all pink on the inside.
