What bloodlines are bred to be smaller dogs? I mean like 35lbs tops. Seems like you see alot of dogs around the 50 lbs mark. I am looking for a smaller bred female, and was wondering what bloodlines I should be looking for.

Thanks for any help yall can give me.

when i ran straight boyles blood the dogs would run around 30-38lbs. they tend to run small with that stuff but you still get 45-50lbs dogs also.

Hey BB- Do they tend to get smaller the closer you breed em?

IDT it matter how tight. i just think some dogs through small no matter what. my last breeding were from tight "nelson/deloach" blood the M 38 CW F35 CW & all offspring are bigger then parents. my guess if i breed them i will get " thro backs" dogs like the grandparent .

Sounds like I need to research the boyels line.

NO greas what ya need to do is get out there & meet some folks that are in to the dogs you like & learn from them. if you want small dogs start researching yorke's & pomerainens(sp) gamedogs come in all different sizes.

Sounds like great advice. Problem is finding people. Thats the main reason i joined this site, that, and to learn as much as i can about the breed and the bloodlines.

I used to be into this breed years ago. Back when I was heavy into it, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Clemmons. A buddy and i bought a dog from him, and had a very enjoyable afternoon. I used to know lots of people, but being out of the breed for over 10 years, i have long lost contact with them.:(

  13. good advice bb. you should be more focused on what makes the complete bulldog instead of what size, color or anything else people ignorantly breed for. always keep an open mind when looking for a dog. there is only one standard with the true bulldog and i think we all know what that is. i think if i had met mr. clemmons, i would know what kind of dog i was looking for.;)

He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. What was supposed to be us just going to look at some dogs, ended up with us spending most of the day talking about the past, and the breed. It truely was a great day.

My focus was the smaller dogs too. So my first line of intrest was Boyles. I came here for the same reasons and herd the same thing. Just read learn. and it's almost like everyone comes to you..... I'm still a sucker for the smaller dogs tough it's just not my main focus anymore.

  18. i haven't met the man myself but i do have a male pup that comes down from wardog. i've heard good thing about him and you surely can't argue that he hasn't produced some fine dawgees in his days. i don't think he's breeding anymore, at least that's what i have been told. the blood is easy enough to find if you know where to look, though.

From what I understand he is not breeding any more but he has a heavy influence on a dogman I know of yard. Mr. C is his mentor.... Lucky motha F*cka!
