Ruckus is a 21 month old, male Border Collie that I rescued three weeks ago. I was originally called for training, but it turned into an "aggressive" dog - owner surrender. His owner said that he kept biting her son. I was also told that he was neutered & microchipped, which I actually had done two weeks ago.
He has spent the past 1 year of his life sitting in a crate, almost 24/7. When we first took him in, he had such limited range of motion with his back legs that we thought he was dysplastic. He is getting better each day and his personality is really starting to come out.
He fits in great with the rest of my pack, and my old man (the Akita) adores him.
I thought I would share him, since he is such a love.

We went to our first herding lesson yesterday, and I was really impressed with him.
Here are a couple clips from yesterday's session.

Thanks for checking Ruckus out. He is turning out to be really something.

  2. Cute looking dogs! I thank you for not only loving APBTs but dogs in general. These creatures tend to give more love than one can ever possibly reciprocate.

I love Boarder Collies! of course I know you will have a great time with him since they excel in most things they do. I had a BC for 5 years before I lost him to a stroke and he was a wonderful agility and loved to herd APBT's. I think your new dog has a bright future with you now that he is able to be a dog and not in a crate all the time. How sad!

very nice & different, my grandpa had a collie when I was a small child. One thing that I think of when I see collies is the eye anomolie that a lot of them have.

    I find it very distinctive.

  6. that is very impressive for a dog that has never herded sheep before!! Good luck!

Cool! I'm glad to see he's out of that damn crate! I got a dog at three that spent the vast majority of her time crated so it hits a cord, that's for sure. So glad to see him out doing what he was meant to do! :)
