I this a Dominant stance ?

    What Do you think of this stance after we met with the dog at Philly Paws ive been wondering if Blue was the cause of the Bitchassness

    I would say no. The dog is alert, but not assertive. In an assertive/dominant dog I normally see the tail up over the back or straight up in the air, up on their toes, ear set forward, and more arch in the neck.

    The ? i have for you is, Was there another dog present? and if not then what does that dog have in that photo that would make him have to be dominat? Dominace is a behavior not a type of dog so in order to see a dominat stance he/she would have to be put in that frame of mind.IMOH.

    o ok well we were in a park in my neighborhood there were a couple dogs barking from their yards/houses ect but non with insight... actually now that i think about it he was focusing on some geese that were in the pond...

    I agree, I think he looks alert, not dominant...and I don't think it's a weird question, just an honest one...nothing wrong with someone trying to learn.

    There's a great book by Brenda Aloff called Canine Body Language, A Photographic Guide with all the information you could ask for on reading canine body language.
