He is also protecting me at home still! He left me his AR15 with holographic scope (don't ask for specifics as I am gun illiterate; I know how to shoot at what I'm aiming for and how not to shoot what I don't wan't to hit) and showed me how to use it. So this middle-aged mom can even aim and shoot with my bifocals on! He is a riot! I really miss having him here to do stuff with. He can run for miles without tiring and it is fun just to sit and watch him at the firing range. If you knew me a year ago, you'd think of me as the last person on earth to fire a gun or own a pitbull. ;)

If my ramblings are inappropriate for this forum, I apologize, but it is nice to be able to tell you about him. If you all don't mind, I'll keep you updated periodically about his welfare. At least as much as I am allowed to pass on.

Otherwise, just let me know to shut up (I don't do subtle LOL!). BTW he is currently with the 82nd. I don't know if I am allowed to be any more specific.

    Update
Well, he finally arrived in Iraq and I can mail things to him. They may still reassign him to better utilize him but it is what it is.

Unfortunately, I accidentally turned the ringer on my phone off yesterday and missed his call :(. And I can't seem to convince him how much his mom appreciates at least leaving a voicemail.

In the past, I tried to send him a new release every week or so since boredom is his 2nd worst enemy. If any of you would like to PM me occasionally with suggestions of movies a 22 yr old guy would like (don't want to clog the forum with posts), it would be appreciated. I've got a feeling I'm going to run out of ideas in about 2 months since his previous deployments were much shorter LOL!

God bless all our troops and all who support them with their prayers!

bro as a father also i would have done the same. there's nothing wrong with worrying about the children. the best way is to pray for their safety in order to lessen your worries even just a little. last year my son was diagnosed with 2 small cysts in his brain and i posted my worries on a board that had a smal but close knit membership. thru prayers of friends and relatives, he's doing well so far. sorry to go off topic but i just want to stress the power of prayers. He always listens bro, 24-7

He made it home safely in May and is attending college and making A's in his courses! He actually likes living at home for the moment LOL!

Much thanks to all the Veterans for their sacrifices!
