That's the same blood I run also, them Boyles dogs in the south anyway are just super athletes and there bred that way.

I was hanging out with one of the hooterville boys, and we talked about this one specifically. That being said, not to take away from anyone or anything. Like I said I run both lines, and when you cross them from good stock. You can expect a couple quality dogs in every litter.

Hey Game butcher do you have any more information on Festus like a ped or something of the sort or even more information on his previous hunts before the one posted. Anything would be appreciated

Andy Capp was actually bred to a daughter of festus. The Boyles Eli cross has been phenomenal for generations. Look at taj mahal, joker man, all the way back to the Cherokee chief x dirty Mary stuff.

  5. D Game Butcher thank you for sharing good info. How did that Capp/ Festus litter work out? I love the Andy Capp blood. The Boyles Eli crosses Black Paz, Luther, Snaps, Rosemary, JR I could go on and on, they are the real deal.

Not really sure, back then there was a cull hard only breed bulldogs philosophy. Most people feared breeding a loosing dog for fear of the criticism it might bring to ones line. I personally despite the fact he is ROM don't thing Andy was that great of a producer considering the amount of bitches he was bred to and the high quality bitches that they were. A lot of grch ace bulldogs weren't super great producers, it's like it skips a generation. The kunta dog, iron mike, the list goes on and on of great dogs that didn't produce as well as there offspring. It goes along with your brood dog ain't your box dog, and your box dog ain't your brood dog. So that specific litter might not have been that great, otherwise I'm sure we'd all know about it, but it was probably a litter of possibly great producers that ended up getting culled.

Capp definitely did his fair bit of producing

  8. How old was AndyCapp when he died? Is it true he was killed by the "badguys."

I'm not denying the fact that he was ROM, but most of the good dogs he produced were male, and most of the bitches he was bred to were also ROM, POR, or intact winners themselves. You probably could have bred curs to the bitches he bred to, and got solid bulldogs. I was simply saying I think he produced more producers than he did actual bulldogs. In 24 breedings he was bred to three ch, one grch, three ROM bitches and a POR bitch, and only produced 14 winning dogs. I never said he didn't produce, just not the best percentages Mr moderator...:)

i think the percentages were fair. his production quality is apparent in the ability of his offsprings ability to produce. what hasnt been mentioned were the number of match quality animals not campaigned or with reported wins.

some breedings dont click and sometimes promising pups for whatever reason don't work out.

I agree 100%. He was a better producer of producers than bulldogs. If you notice those straight ace Grand champion dogs that aren't the best producers, there offspring produced like a MF. Not saying that awesome dogs can't produce, but I think you'll notice that the great dogs that didn't have great percentages, were great producers of brood dogs.

Look I'm not trying to argue, but do the math in comparison, his son Red Johnny was a way better producer. Look at the difference in the number of bitches and the caliber of bitches he was bred to. Andy Capps numbers weren't all that impressive. Say what you want but the numbers don't lie.

I could see a problem coming with people holding back good animals seeing they were off Andy Capp. They would want to preserve the blood and that's where you get the he threw good producers. Pretty sure a lot of guys had show animals that they wouldn't campaign off of him.

I get what your saying, but I know a lot of the guys who were involved with the making of what we know as the Boyles bloodline, including Ronald himself and they'll all tell you the same thing. That's why none of the working kennels running Boyles blood have any line bred Andy Capp dogs, it's not like he wasn't bred like a mofo. There easy to get, AFK has them, there just not comp quality hounds. Now he is in pedigrees of good dogs, just not line bred like the Alfalfa stuff.

I saw a Voodoo dog that was a good animal. Had no problem with him at all. Was true to the breed standard. There are some that's running it but you just have to find it.

I have seen some damn good andycapp dogs!!....however I do believe different blood cross well with different strains of blood!!..that's the whole key!!...IMO.

So you saw voodoo go with your own two eyes, I heard things about some hand picking and home cooking... Just saying what I heard, but the real dogmen running the Boyles stuff round here wouldn't feed nothing off that yard if the food was given to them. Just like there's line bred skull dogs I wouldnt feed. A pedigree is supposed to be a tool to know how to breed your good dog, not a way to find him.

Shittt!!...I wouldn't feed anything off boyles yard now!...he isn't the source anymore buttttt......he has a family member who has them working!!...I'm not downing RB at all!!....I'm just saying I wouldn't feed anything off his yard right now!!...I give much respect to him for wat he did for this breed of dogs!...just wanted to say that before anybody took it the wrong way!
