Hello there :) just introducing myself and bitch. Pic heavy.

Discussion in 'Introductions' started by RECOGN1ZED, Sep 1, 2008.

  1. I haven't taken the time to introduce myself yet so here I go. I'm 19 living In Pomona Los Angeles Ca. Like many I stereotyped the (Pitbull) for years, I always thought it was an overrated dog by blacks, and hillbillys. A fat dog that was always ugly. A dog that could supposedly beat dogs in it's weight class like nothing, and could sometimes beat dogs 4 times as big in the ring (yeah right). I thought it was a breed that was untrust worthy. A dog that was human, animal aggressive. Yet I never really thought or looked into the breed until a certain dog came into my life and changed the way I looked at pitbulls. My APBT Dulce. She was giving to me by an uncle who took her in for a friend that was moving to another state. He said he never had enough time to invest in her. So he left her to my uncle. My uncle being the dog lover that he is knows alot about many breeds of dog, and had owned APBT before.

I honestly didn't trust her at first around anyone in my house. She got along great at first glance with my moms Miniature Pincher (She can't be around other dogs other then my mom's Pin,and my uncle's Presa Canario now. But within a couple days this sweet friendly dog had gained my family's trust and love. Up intil this point my favorite breeds were Dovermans,German Sheps,Rotts. Now that I'v owned an APBT, I can now say its my favorite breed by far. Their love for people is unquestionable, and their drive, and desire to please their master is unmatched. She has forever changed my outlook on dogs, and she has helped me learn the life lesson that you shouldln't judge something you know nothing about. Since then I have researched hours upon hours on everything there is to know about the breed I'v honestly become obsessed with this breed of dog. I'm very blessed and proud to own the best dog breed there is the (APBT) and heres the dog that changed my outlook on things forever Dulce. :D

Here she is at 1 year 4 months.

Good looking dog, and welcome to the site!

Appreciate the introduction, and pictures. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

Only thing I'd like to say is, watch you're girls weight. She was a touch large in the younger pictures, she's overweight in the last couple. Thankfully, this is a high-energy breed that loves to work, and it shouldn't take but a few weeks to get her to a healthier place so you can share more years together.

LOL sorry Rec. she does look like she could be pregant! But welcome man and start workin her out she is a beautiful dog!:)

  6. LOL :p it's okay guys she's pregnant. I'm well aware of a dog having to maintain a certain physique. She was looking real lean and cut before she got prego, she would run on the treadmill 5 miles a day and play plenty of tug a war. She gets fed nothing, but Blue Buffalo Wolfverine dry dog food. 42% Protein min. All but one of the pups will be going to good homes, most with family, 1 is staying with me. :D

I'll be sure to put some reconditioning back in her schedule about a month or so after she gives birth. She's about 53-57 days in in the last 3 pics, I thought you guys would know right off the bat :p. She's due anyday now.;)

  7. Hi, really nice bitch you have there.

Bred her kinda young, don't you think? Most dogs haven't done anything meaningful to prove themselves breed-worthy before 2, 3, or older. It takes time to show them, get the working titles on them, do some health-testing, line up enough responsible homes to take the pups you wont be keeping (unless you're keeping the whole litter for yourself). Before meeting your dog you didn't like the breed, and a year and a half later you're already breeding them. Be careful with what you're rushing headlong into. Casual breeding isn't a good thing, especially with this breed.

Either way, welcome aboard. Hope we can help you learn about these dogs. :)

Welcome and can I say she sure is one great looking, GORGEOUS dog.

And you will HAVE to post pictures of the puppies when they come along, you got that? :p

    But again, welcome aboard. :D

  10. Yeah you have valid points, I actually did do some health testing at the vet a month before her second heat, they did blood work, and x-rays. She just came back from the vet today, and all is looking good, she's due any day now.Like I said I'm keeping 1, maybe 2, the rest are going to good homes, most to family. And thanks I'll be sure to post pics.;)

Just what we need, another BYB , or maybe it was just an accident ?

This is exactly whats wrong with the breed, its got tons of newbs playing god in their backyard. Take this post how you want I personally can only shake my head in disgust.

Your dog has done absolutely nothing to have proven it was worthy of being bred, the only reason I see why it was done was from another post that was made in regards to her color. I am sure the "blue fawn" was a huge qualification in your eyes huh ?

Too bad she didn't teach you not to breed something you know nothing about.
In your studies its a shame you skipped over the part of not breeding a dog that is 1) too young & 2) has yet to earn any titles that shows her worth to breed.

I am sure you think I am harsh but in all reality its breedings such as this that are ruining the breed. I would like to know in your own words how this particular breeding has improved your dogs bloodlines ? What fault was showing that needed to have been corrected ? What qualified the stud to have proven his worth to be bred ?

If you cannot answer those question then that is a tell tale sign that you have no idea what you were doing and should not be dabbling in breeding dogs. Once these pups are born do us all a favor and spay your dog. If you do not see the wrong in what you have done then all hope is gone for you. I really hope this is an eye opening experience for you and that you learn from this mistake and to make the same one in the future.

to the OP-while your newfound enthusiasm for the breed is nice, your execution-frankly sucks.
