Weird things pitbulls do

Hey all, whenever someone my pitbull knows comes inside my home, he will squirt drops of pee of over excitement lol, he pees while jumping like a rabbit on crack,if hes not careful he will pee on the person, this is a funny thing to watch and embarrassing at the same time

 

i find it very disturbing that u find this funny, i would be far from entertained if my dog pissed all over my house and all over me just because he's excited. U need to calm the dog down before u let him in the house and don't pay any attention to him until he is calm, once he calms down then u can show him some love but as soon as he gets too wired u need to ignore him again. Ur setting urself up for trouble by not correcting ur dogs behavior ASAP

 

He never does this to me, its other people that he knows (friends, family, etc,etc) , that enter the house , also it doesn't happen always, just when he is overly excited, he doesnt full on pee, its lil drops of pee, you can barely see, lighten buddy.

 

when i get home and my dog is really happy to see me he will show his teeth and wag his tail when he walks over to me. i've always said smile when he does this, now he will smile on command. its not an aggressive behavior, he does it to the people that come over often like my girl friend and friends when hes happy to see them.

 

This isn't a 'weird thing pitbulls do' - this is something you can see in any breed.

This may be submissive urination which is a behavioral issue - not something to laugh at. I'd also suggest you have him examined by a veterinarian to make sure there isn't a physical cause for this.

 

I have had dogs all my life, of different breeds, and never expierenced this before, so yes, for it is weird.

It is very clear, when a dog is submissive, when my dog is jumping up and down , with his tail wagging a million hit per second, and keeps on jumping on the person (in a non aggressive way)................ yea , its not submissive, but over excitement i would say it is. Cheers.....

 

Hugo I had a Pit like that too once ,it may have been funny the first time but its not cool to pee in my house like that.Boi Boi is right you gotta calm that dog down.It can be a behavior or habit that "can" be removed.Pm me if you want some suggestions.

 

yeah, i would term it as submissive urination, as well. and dogs do this for a variety of reasons: when they get excited upon greeting you and/or your friends, due to being nervous, fearful, due to hearing loud, unexpected noises....
and since your dog does it when you have company, it falls right into this scenero. it's not to say your dog is bad or misbehaving, it's just a trait that this particular dog has acquired.
as long as health issues have been ruled out, it sounds like you have a really emotional/happy dog, who, simply pees when he gets excited, and yeah, there are ways to address this.

and please, again, i stress, it's not to say you have a "bad" dog. in his mind he's not doing anything wrong, because based on a canine's/pack mentality. he's meerly deeming himself as something other than the alpha. ~which most dogs perfer and are cool with!

 

my dog will grab a toy and mouth you like hes trying to lick you but of course the toy is in his mouth this is always hilarious. as for the peeing thing i had a dog like that but we broke that habit when she was a puppy. its so imbarassing. i had it happen to a strange women at a park that just wanted to pet her i was mortified.
