You can use skin~so~soft from avon and spray it on them each day. Or use vaseline or axle grease...something "nasty" like that and spread a good layer of it on the ears. It will last about three days usually and works great.

In the summer I spray em' down real good each day with the skin so soft and put the axle grease on the ears of the ones who need it.

I've never had any problems with using it....but that doesnt mean that it's not a possibility. I've also used it to "protect" open wounds from accidents and things like that.

try pine oil and water depending on the age of the dog depends on how strong to mix it with water its also good for fleas

permethrien [Spelling] diluted in a water bottle works good. Just spray the dogs ears and body every couple days and there should be no problems.

DUDE NOTHING I EVER BOUGHT WORKED, I tried diatomacious earth or whatever, tried like every chemical and product and some did work for a while but wore off too quick, so to add to some others advice I used tons of Vasoline but taught myself a trick to make it more effective it seems, Sevin Dust is good but the powder likes to rub and shake off a dog so I dissolved as much as possible into the vasoline and spread it on generously, it works great but here in Iowa the stable flies still can bite thru it but it did stave them off long enough for the dog to heal inbetween attacks so try it next spring, thats one thing that is good about winter up here, a break from the bugs. Also this worked even better in combo with ear tags for cattle hung on the collar, they repel bugs like no other and the ones that make it thru get killed by the vasodust mixture.
