They may not be able to spoil the dog but if the dog has food and someone to look after it I say that is a whole heck of alot better than it being on its own in the streets where it is more likely to be a problem because its on its own.

Luke, 9:58 "and He said, the foxes have their holes, and the birds of the air have their nests, but Man has not which to lay his head."

What secure manner is that, by chaining them up in the back yard or having to kennel them?

Is having a secure leash on a dog not good enough anymore?

How does a homeless person with a dog automatically have to have his dog running around lose on the street? You talk like they have them walking by their sides unleashed or something.

I know if I'm ever homeless, I would know exactly how to take care of my dog.

Anyway, if you guys have the time, check out this movie that I seen.
    http://french.imdb.com/title/tt0838195/usercomments

    It's called "Reversal of Fortune"

It's about a bum that unexpectedly gets a breifcase full of $100,000 from the producers while he's looking through trash.

And no, it doesn't portray homeless people in a very good light, well, at least not that guy. Just a great documentary that I thought you all would like to see.

If you really think about it, sounds like heaven for dogs to me.

A dogs life is focused on its pack, in this case the owner.

This owner is with this dog 24/7. Imagine how well trained your dogs would be if you were with them 100% of the day?

Dog are wanderers. If they were free to roam they would spend a lot of their time just walking around.

Dogs are scavengers, while they walk they look for food.

I could keep going but you get my point?

Homeless does not always mean destitute or miserable. Some people actually choose to live this way and can well afford to do so. If the dog is healthy, happy, and responsibly cared for, what does it matter if it lives outside? At least it's not sleeping alone in a dog house eh? LOL.

    ;)

I dont know about you guys but the homeless people where Im from are not "Just need a break" homeless people. A good friend of mine and one hell of a dogman's wife was brutally raped and murdered by a transient (sp?) at the vets office she worked in. She use to bring them food and hot coffee in the mornings before work. One day a guy followed her to her office at 5:30am and had his way with her in every way imaginable and then beat her to death with a fire extiguisher. They found her body shoved in one of the kennels when the rest of the staff got there. I have no place in my heart or life for those scum of the earth cock roaches. I think 99% of them are just lazy drunks with the exception of the Vets. They're drunks too but their Country abandoned them, crippled and scarred from a war that was none of our business. Ok, that came out of left field. :) Im done venting now. Sorry. :)

    I remember that! Wells Road.
Jacksonville bums are pretty bad. ( anyone see the south park episode? lol)
    anyways...
in jax- if a bum had a dog it would probably be traded for crack.
    sad but true.

You can't judge all homeless people on the actions of a few ;) and those that dwell on the streets to prey on humanity are in a different league. They are too consumed with their own interests to even want to share with a dog.
