Redboy and Sorrells= High % of Hemphill ??

I've been told that Redboy dogs are basically Hemphill (OFRN). When I see pics of very tight Redboy dogs and pics of pure Hemphill dogs, I notice a similarity in appearance. Also, that Sorrells dogs have a high % of Hemphill blood in them, now that I had never heard before until recently. Any opinions? Thanks.

 

Depends on who you talk to. Sorrells used many dogs in his foundation, most were off Klaus' Zeke (Bolio's daddy). Redboy's pedigree is a source of controversy.

I know Buck Shot was crossing in some red boy and yellow john there towards the end! If any one knows he would. And how uncle buds litter where red red nose dogs out of black nosed parents? Makes me go hum! Just a thought.

 

after Bert got Koehlers Bull he bred heavy around him Zeke was Bulls sire.And Fitzwaters Goldie was Zeke sire.Goldie was 75 percent Lightner ,25 percent Colby.So yea its very possible for rednose to pop out of Sorrells blood.Same thing with Bolio.He and Bull were half brothers.So its possible to get rednose there to,and especially after PP crossed the Tombstone blood in.Tomnstone also had OFRN in him along with Dibo.

 

This would be referring to Red Jerry who was arguably Sorrells most influential dog in the development of the sorrells line. Sorrells Bull was by Zeke (Bolios sire) out of Daisy ( Bolios sister) Bull sired Shoshone who was another influential dog. Blue monday by Boots the blacksmith were both Corvino dogs. The earlier sorrells stuff then really were corvino crosses with Zeke and other stuff added later so looking to say it has high percentage Hemphill is drawing a pretty long bow.

I can't see much Hemphill blood at all. A lot of Sorrells stuff came here (Australia) in the early days of the pitbull in this country down through Hardeyes. They were generally well regarded people friendly happy dogs that were good stable all round dogs.

 

if you study a Sorrells dog ped you will find Koehlers Bull show up more than any other dog...Now just for study sake ,papers dont matter much,but I have a dog Bull shows up 32 times in 8 generations and I havent researched the 9th and 10th yet.As I said Bulls grandsire was Fitzwaters Goldie who was 75 percent Lightner and 25 percent Colby.So naturally when you breed around Bull that much your naturally breeding that much around his sire and grandsire.So yes I would say thier is quite a bit of OFRN in Sorrells dogs even though they dont look it.But sometimes the rednose do pop up.And I would also say the Bolio ,Tombstone crosses may be heavier OFRN than the Sorrells and they prob are.

 

Now I am talking about the Sorrells dogs of today.Now if you would have looked at Berts stuff bfore Bull yes it would have been a different picture.But you study a ped of todays Sorrells dogs you will find that Bull shows up more than any other dog.And who could blame Bert? lol Koehlers Bull was a once in a life time type of dog .Sorrells is a well structured family.

 

Now are you talking about Bert's dogs that he breed before he got out of the dogs or the line in general ? I think the line was breed a few different ways by him and Joanie . But hey who knows I really dont think crossing redboy with sorrells = high % Hemphill but if you believe the story about redboy coming from some of Vera Storms blood then hey who knows . I did a similar cross years ago sorrells x Vera storm cross that's was pretty nice some black and tans , buckskins and always one red nose . What do you guys think I would get with this cross a lot of red nose pups ?

thats because redboy and ofrn are 2 diff things..And u can slice it however you want Bert oR joanie using siff outs still equals the same thing ..lots of Koehlers Bulllllll.......

 

i meant Bert and Joanie using diff outs has nothin to do with it..Yes i am talking about the same dogs bert had bfore he got out..But i was refering to bfore Bull came into the picture.Now you would have to research a dog early from Berts career to see it.But the Sorrells of today make no mistake ,I dont care if they came from Bert or Joanie the dog that will show more than any other is Bull.

 

and Fat unlike some people I like the vicegrip stuff..Not sure about the boomer stuff though.As far as redboy if I went with some i would prob try the hyamaker stuff..But hey anything look good on paper man.U never know until u try it.

Well I don't think there is that much or any Hemphill blood in sorrels line and as far as redboy that is all in what you believe in how he was breed . It looks like you have done you home work on sorrells line . How many sorrell dogs have you delt with in the past ? That threw red nose dogs when breed heavy on the bullside of the line?
