Bil-Jac sucks. I can't believe what they charge for that crap. It's mainly by-products, corn, and sugar. As if bulldogs weren't crazy enough on their own, people are actually giving them sugar??? lol

To anyone who feeds it, I say switch to Timberwolf, Innova, or something similar. Same price, MUCH better quality.

ETA: You might wanna switch to something better too actually. Too much corn, IMO, and the fat source isn't specific so who knows what they're putting in it. Just a thought...

The AmStaff people here like Bil-Jac for fattening their dogs up.

I don't know where you live, but around here Bil-Jac doesn't cost anywhere near the same price as quality foods such as Timberwolf, Innova, & Evo. For the largest size Bil-Jac bag of food, it's a whopping $29. Nutro costs more.

However, Biljac is horrible food. Period.

I am a amstaff guy (this because gamedogs are banned since 1993 in my country) but my dogs aren't fat!!
Why would somebody want to make their dogs fat!! And what has that do with Amstaffs??!!
We have two amstaffs (pure ruffian line) and they are lean, fit and ready to hit the road. They are handwalked 2 to 3 hours daily and gets all kind of other workouts. They are in no way lazzy housedogs that only shit and eat a lot.

Watch any AKC or UKC dog show and u'll see why that was said, every representation of an amstaff is a fat slob of a dog, never fit and trim they don't like to see the dogs actual structure they would rather see obese dogs trying to run through the show ring

Why in the hell are you taking something I said out of context? I paraphrased what am AmStaff person told me. WTF does that have to do with your dogs? Sounds like you're insecure and looking for a reason to fight somebody.

Ain't THAT the truth! My Am Staff recently placed 2nd to a fat slob drooling dog that could barely walk around the ring. The dog was so short and fat halfway through it was panting and lagging behind. I don't mind losing to a better dog but that was certainly NOT a better dog. This is my dog. He wasn't fat and lazy enough for them I guess :(

imo, this feed is low quality. to cut costs, dog food manufactures use less "meat" and more cereal and grains today hence, on most dog food bags, if you look, you'll see that, of the first three ingredients listed, it's oftentimes 2 of the 3 that are grains. The amount and type of carbohydrate in pet food determines the amount of nutrient valuethat the animal is actually going to get, and since corn has much less nutritional value that rice, that set off a red flag with me.
and do a search regarding by products, and the process of rendering, and look and see what actually goes into the manufacturing of dog food. you'll be appalled.

I know that's the big hippo's are a hipe in the U.S.A. But in Europe those big ones are not the ones they prefere at shows (most of the time). I know that there are alot of breeders that breed dogs that are bigger, biggest..

Those big ones are not the ones i prefer. I like the sporting type of dogs that can run and play for hours. My dogs weigh about 20-25 kg max and are lean and fit. I have been to fci show in Europe with my male dog often and he was placed and received excelent from the judges more than once but nearly never have seen does xxxl dogs been placed and take the win.

Sorry that I responced maybe a bit irritated in the first post but that was not my intention.

From seeing the ingredients that was posted, I'd stick to the Nutro HE if your dog is doing good on it. Remember, some dogs do better on different feeds whether it's a premium feed or a lower quality. I've fed Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice & my dogs did great on it. I then tried Nutro Ultra & they started to look horrible (runny eyes, softer stools, & lots of shedding). I am now & have been feeding Canidae & they never looked better. Don't be afraid to try different feed & stck to the one you find w/ best results. Good luck!
