How Much do you Spend on Your Dogs?

What are the restrictions on writing off dog supplies, feed etc? I think it varies between states. Someone told me here you have to have a registered kennel or service dogs, dunno.

 

I spend like $1500 on my dogs a month.

 

150-200 on a single dog per month not including my last $100 vet visit.

 

Man at least $150 easy.... And that ain't touching.... New chains, collars, doghouses, and various other hardware.... I'd say 5-6 grand a year easily when adding total cost....fuck I jus realized... Why I'm always broke!!!! But I love the little fuckers tho

 

Not 100% positive but I think you do have to have a registered kennel and at that point all expenses can be considered "business" expenses. But if you save your receipts certain stuff can be written off even as personal stuff

 

$100 a week on food alone

 

Spent over $3k in less than 3 weeks. My bitch bloated up...thought it was a blockage so I took her to the vet. They felt her up and sent us home with a clear bill of health. Later that night I noticed she was actin strange so I took her inside and she ran down the hallway and fell down for no reason. Got up a lil shaky and unsteady. Took her to the emergency vet. Did blood work and xrays. Xrays were unclear due to the water she was holding in her abdomen. Blood work came back with heightened liver enzymes. Tested the water she was retaining and it came back clear (no infection).

Next day we took her to our regular vet. Did an ultrasound....unclear again due to water retention. Scheduled a visit w/an internal specialist. Same tests performed this time with results. Abnormal and damaged liver- no shunts but some sort of congential liver disease. Put her on a home cooked hepatic diet and medication. Did well for a week but bloated up again. Started to seize bad...another trip to the emergency vet. Placed her on IVs and meds but never managed to bring her out of the seize. Had her put down the following day. Dog was not yet 3 yrs of age.To this day the best bulldog I've ever owned. Total vet bill: just over $3k.

My dog chain equiment collar,snaps etc. cost me about 50 bucks .Fed costs 18:00 dollars for 50 pound bag Rabies shot 12 dollars every years . I dont go to the often i worm my dog myself dewormer 3.00 dollars to 11.50 .

 

Much more than I spend on myself....
Couple stacks a year per dog between feeding, supplies, vets, licenses, housing, set ups. It all adds up quick.

 

it cost me around 4000 year for the dogs. next year it will be a little higher bc I will need to buy new chains.
