It is a line of apbt's, not all red noses are though.

I get asked all the time Is that a red nose. And my reply is yes his nose is red in color BUT he is NOT from the Old Family Red Nose Bloodline.

So there is a Bloodline that is called Old Family Red Nose (OFRN) but just because a dog has a red nose does not mean it is from that line.

I hate it when people ask me that, what am I supposed to say, or is red nose a specific bloodline, because I have never heard of it.

OFRN is an authentic gameline. The authentic stuff isnt as widespread as much but is made up of great well built dogs. There are a couple of kennels running this strain. The dogs of this strain are down from hemphill, wilder, wallace dogs just to name a few.

All I know about Old Family Red Nose (OFRN) is what I have read in Richard Stratton's books. But there are plenty of ppl on here that is better quaified to answer that than I. You also can do a search of Old Family Red Nose on this site. And I am sure you will get a few threads to read up on.

Also in his book This is the American Pit Bull Terrier he does go into the history of OFRN.

Well if you know the bloodline of your dog. Tell them that.

I also get the same question about my blue dog. Is that a blue. And they get the same response. Yes the color of his coat is blue. But blue is not a bloodline. Just a color.

But that is an indicator that they do not know much about the APBT.

Aren't OFRN's bred for color, and are large? and not of APBT standard..

No, there are many true performance bred OFRN dogs still out there today. Unfortunately, even this line did not escape the hoarders of the "bigger is better" generation :(

I get a giggle when people ask me if Loki has rednose in her. I look down at her, look back up and say, "She is a rednose. See the red pigment?"

we often hear some odd stuff from folks. And it is very tiresome and sometimes painfully difficult to answer with out being sarcastic, irritated or just flat out laughing at the poor missinformed sap. I have even had to just walk away as I was amazed at the level of ignorance displayed. Thinking dear Lord how has this fellow made it this far in life with out poking his/her own eye out with a fork while eating.

Yes I do. I made a huge pot yesterday. I will be eating it for about 3 days. One thing my Mam-Ma (grandma) did teach me was how to cook. She said if you can't cook you will never keep a man. LOL Gotta love them sayings!
