“Frisco is Garner- Garner is Frisco” lol. Frisco was one of the best producers of all time because of how much he was bred. Combine his numbers with better than average bitches being bred and you’re bound to produce some champions, and a lot of really decent dogs. Tom is the personification of Frisco. I think Tom’s dogs are just fine, but not the holy grail like so many others think. Take the time to condition and “good” dog and you’ll create a “great” dog. And like you said- Garners Ace in the hole is his “distant” connection to testing his dogs. He’s done a hell of a lot with 12 acres of property(not including over the borders endeavors) and a handful of good dogs to start. I would love to know how many dogs out there aren’t actually “game” but just extremely well conditioned. My guess the number of actual “game” dogs is similar to the number of “man eaters”. Very few and far between. But who knows, my timberlands seem to do just fine.

This is true. I look at some of the Cottingham dogs (being a Red Boy guy) and think the same.

it is like when someone says, "it is too good to be true"....well.....

But my skepticism and the skepticism of others have not even slowed the train. In fact, I think it works out for the next sell when someone mentions their skepticism as they are then called 'haters'. 'Haters' help sell other people's puppies.

True. And at one time he and Frisco could be called a 'one trick pony'. Again, from a marketing perspective, when that particular product began to slide he shifted to Frisco crosses and then to other lines altogether, but yes, most having a Frisco connection.

I would grade the dogs and their breedings as fair as I do my own. Across the board would Frisco be a high percentage producer, maybe but more than likely 'maybe not'. He was indeed bred to make what feels like thousands of puppies. When he was coupled with good bitches it is said 'he' produced when in all fairness it should be said 'they' produced.

If there was a way to check them all I would say his percentages would be still better than most. maybe not as good as some. And so many of his dogs were never checked because they were bought to breed/make money. (Separate topic altogether, but...) the breeder can't take the credit for dogs that win and then get to blame the buyer when things turn south and at the same time the buyer can't blame the breeder when things go south and then take all the credit when stacking W's. If the breeder gets to picks and choose which dogs are 'counted' his percentages then go thru the roof.

The guy that turned me onto the dogs bred to him natural way back when breeding toward his bottom side vs. the Chinaman side. He had good dogs. Back then his percentages were respectable, if not as good as any.

Hindsight being 20/20 and if I had any interests in puppies at all, way back when I would have bought that Spike dog, as well as Mr. Brewer's yard, as well as that Cottingham strain and set up camp here.

I'm willing to bet no one has a 401K/retirement/investment portfolio with a better return.

It is damn near "minimal investment compared to return as well as 'minimal risk/astounding return'.

Again, I am not beefing up the dogs nor the breeder, just pointing out the business model.

All this "hater" shit is out of control all across the bord. Pertaining to the spike dogs I have yet to see anything that looks like him or the dogs behind him. With all the breeding from those dogs you'd figure to get a brown/white cow patch offspring with the missy look. Them dogs look like momo/ ceaser offspring. Not scepticism or hatred just common sense.
