Man you can keep progressing and schooling. you hounds with. baby boars but if my hound gonna hunt then I'm gonna put some pressure on him out the gate so don't get it twisted if you wanna run with the big dogs you train with them

and you said something about picking a match lol funny if a weight. is called its any and all takers and when its locked well it could last only 10 minutes ending in a game scratch or death depends. on the dogs and the handlers

Sure u pick him up that don't means he's game. I didn't say pick a match, I said pick the right dog to match. Which means if u brought a raggedy ass dog that got broke down in 10 minutes...you didn't bring the right dog!

Was just asking in regards to Grizz opinion. Since a dog can not show to be game in short time in his opinion

Just cuz dog isnt a cur doesnt mean u can declare it honest, Northdogger. The dog proves itself a cur the same way it can prove itself to be an honest dog... until then it is just unproven.

I can't remember the time on all of Bad Rosemary's matches but I do remember she killed a male in 27 minutes. She had a mouth on her that could inflict serious damage quickly and if I am not mistaken she killed all 4 of the dogs she went up against. I don't think you can put a time limit on gameness but the longer they show the more you get to see from the dog but some dogs like bad rosemary had abilities that could inflict serious damage in a short period of time and in that case the other dog is simply out classed by a dog with a great talent or ability and you either let the dog die or pick it up for another day. You know when your dog doesn't have a chance in the world to come back or is loosing to the point of no return if you are satisfied with what you saw from the dog I would say that is more than enough so long as the dog didn't quit.

Gameness isn't all about physical punishment is what I was saying. In 10 minutes that's ALL your gonna see. If by chance ur dogs wind is SO bad it reaches some level of exhaustion in 10 minutes...in my book it doesn't deserve consideration.

Gameness is something you have to see in person to really understand it. Some dog men have picked their dogs up before they quit, because they know the signs that their dog is showing. Heat will stop a dog,so its not always pain that stops a dog.

i dont agree i know it seems that it should b that way but i done seen newbies on 2 ocasssions run a dog ragged and unhealty and they quit in fact didn.t even act like the same dog then 1 of them latter in good shape proved 2 b dead game

  14. A Cur is a dog who can not take what he dishes out, therefore he quits, you know the sayings, when the tables are turned, when the rough gets going, when the heat is on, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen...etc. A dog that quits is a Cur in my eyes.
