First of all, best wishes for 2021 ya'll!

Second, i have been seeing so called Weightpull breedings for many years, in both the USA as in the EU.

But i am wondering what it means, because here in the EU it doesn't work for a bit. I always see the dogs win that come from gamedogs.

In the USA it is the opposite as far as i know. The kennels that breed weightpull dogs are weightpulling for many years. But they aint gonna share their knowledge for sure.

I can enjoy weightpull alot, and then especially the dogs who try to pull the weight they can't or barely can pull. Then the heart comes in play, do they quit or do they keep on going no matter if the cart stays at the position its at.

Sure it is not gameness but the fact is that they keep on going while they wont be able to do the weight.

So i can think on "weightpull" breedings work over there because they select on stable dogs, calm but great minded dogs.

But i would like to know what you guys think about it, i mean, it is not instinct, not hunting, not protection work, not nosework, no genetics come in play except a exceptional strong mind to keep on going.

Ofcourse it is also alot of Handling/Owner their work, but there any many single persons that have alot of succes with dogs from a certain litter.

It is always a lottery ofcourse, but to me it seems the percentage of having a "weightpull" breeding full of winners are higher then the percentage of a gamedog litter that makes the cut.
