Water Tank - Swim Tank?

Does anyone still use one for conditioning? Any new ideas on building one?

Unless you have actually used a swim tank to condition a dog, get the F*^% off my thread and let someone who has post here. They used to be another great way to work a dog if you didn't have access to pool, lake, ocean, or it was winter and the dog couldn't be worked on mill or road worked because of previous injury.

Sorry Folks, I was up all almost all night w/ my back after lifting and moving some stuff for my wife to get ready for my granddaughter's 5th B'day.(Knew better - but can't seem to get my head to believe the body just ain't that healthy anymore .) That + the T.I.A. that I had week before last has given me a rather nasty attitude! The wife says I should change my handle to Old Grumpy Dog ! Mia culpa - please accept my apology ya' all.

Well I would think common sense told you to use wood over cardboard, other than that....the video & blueprint layout should work perfect. Infact, ill be replicating this design with plywood & jacuzzi jets.

Years ago I made one out of a large livestock watering tank. Had to lift the dogs in and out. Used a trolling motor w/ a weed guard on it for swim current LOL !

thought of using the the metal livestock water tanks, may still use one and build a wooden frame around it to not leave the plumbing exposed.

 

The swim tank has to be deep enough so the dogs wont try to stand in the tank and the walls will have to be far enough away so the dogs cant reach it with there legs. A tank this size usually holds 500 gallons of water or more plus a good filter will help clean the water just in case the dog accidentally takes a shit LOL.

Or for 250 bucks you can invest in one of these swimming pools were both you and the dog can have fun and workout/swim at the same time LOL Intex 15 Metal Frame Pool - Walmart.com plus its already equipped with a filter so your set. The only down fall is your water bill LMAO Also that pool is big enough to have 2 dogs in it facing each other LMAO

A good circulation system I believe is key with a swim tank.

 

Peon you seen that pool water flow system commercials late at night? That thing looks awesome lol.
